We took the stairs for sure.
14,066 feet total, starting elevation about 11.5. 2.5k feet of gain with this little oxygen was a challenge.
Vibin’ big time. Ate lunch at 8:05 after reaching summit at 7:55. Left home at 3AM.
Drank a Bierstadt Slow Pour Pils on Mt Bierstadt. I’m a brewer in Colorado, and this is a renowned beer, nationally lusted-after.
This guy with his unenthused dog really got me.
He allegedly used to hike but got arthritis. Looks like he’s bored af but I thought this guy was a great pet owner to give his dog the experience and environment. It’s stayed with me.
Wildflowers in mid July is rare here. The climate is shifting. Denver made 40% of its ANNUAL rainfall in one weekend. It’s gonna get weird.

I knew it was Mt bierstadt before the pic of you drinking the beer. Well marked trail till about half way where it turns into stone pile markers. The view is awesome up there. You can see frozen lake and you can keep going acorss the ridge.

Frozen lake is unsurprisingly not too frozen these days, unless I’m confusing it with a different one.
