Mine had something similar l, which I took for careless stitching. But years later and you can’t even see the scar or any lumps.
Most important thing to do is keep an eye on pup and make sure she doesn’t go downhill, get her to a vet ASAP if needed.

Thanks I finally just took her over to the shelter even tho they were closed I figured somebody had to be there. They gave her antibiotics and anti-inflammatory and said it's a reaction to the stitches. She is eating drinking pooping and playing omg the energy what have I gotten myself into ;) I do appreciate 💜

What an exhausting joy it is to have a new puppy in the house. Enjoy her love and affection. My baby is snuggled up beside me like a delightfully lumpy hot water bottle.

She is apparently feeling a lot better this morning. *boggle* We walked a mile and she was on a MISSION to see the end of that path. I usually do about 3mi a day with Bandit, so I got a carrier for her I'm beginning to think I won't need! Her incision is definitely less swollen and less pink. Good deal all around. She's eager to please which is super nice after 3 huskies ;) but she has the drive and the energy and she's clearly an athlete. This is gonna be awesome. 💜

Thank you. I left messages with the shelter yesterday but no response yet. The first vet apt I can find is Monday, is that ok? The skin is closed. Is it like a hernia?

Get an ace wrap, some plastic wrap, sterilize the area, place a plastic sheet over the hernia, then wrap. Tell any possible company they can't visit until healed. Fucken vet tech should have told you this for a three day wait...

To be fair it's the shelter vet that's not responding, mine is just booked up for the weekend. I got her from them yesterday. Advice appreciated, I'll see if I can find anybody with an opening today.

It's exposed soft tissue. Triage... A proper vet reschedules a checkup. I love that you're being loyal to your vet, but it's not pet loving behavior, it's money loving behavior. At the very least, have a list of alternative vets in case some sort of emergency happens that catches you off guard.

It's fully closed. I took her back to the shelter which was closed but people were there. They said it's a suture reaction and gave her abx and pain meds. There's an emergency vet but they're expensive tho we will if needed. Thanks for the help!
