This is my soon to be father in law. His name is Dave. He is one of the greatest men I've ever met in my life. He was drafted into Vietnam and exposed to agent orange. He doesn't tell many stories from his service, nor do many men. What he will tell us is the stories about the platoons per monkey and how he could always spot their tank due to the "havva glass of milk" bumper sticker on the turrett. He grew up as a poor farm boy and after his service he came home to continue that lineage. Dave is one of the most highly decorated veterans in town and also in the state. 3 bronze stars in the matter of 3 months. I'm not a big believer in a higher power but someone always has his back. One of the more heart wrenching stories he's told was about how he went on furlough and the army lost that information and sent "The Letter" home. Thankfully as soon as furlough was over was the same day the letter came to the house. I can't imagine what the family went through to go from the heart wrenching thought that Dave was dead to hearing his joyful voice over the phone an hour later!

Even though the exposure to agent Orange and the life of a farmer has taken it's toll on his lungs, Dave is still one of the most up beat and genuinely happy people I've ever encountered. I know he's a very humble man so I did not post this on any other social media out of respect to him but I wanted to put more of my words out there on this wonderful man! Thanks pops, for everything. I can't wait to marry your son on the farm in September!
