Well you see if the whole site is SFW, they can ask for ads from everyone, and categorise the ads so you don't get sfw and nsfw ones appearing together.
Oh, actually! You could try toggling off "mature" in your imgur preferences and see if that affects the ads you get! I bet their data collection includes that preference and fiddles with the ads!
