#1 *sight (Also, I'd declutter them right back, with equal strength. "Honey, didn't we hide this at your parents' house not two weeks ago?" "I think you're right ... and never call me honey again. Also, where did this painting of a moose come from?")

#5 Not a specialist, but why would frozen oxigen be more flammable than liquid oxygen? It's about as dense, but slightly less reactive due to it being bound in a crystal lattice? (side note: Plenty of YT video's of people pouring liquid oxygen on fires)
evilspock
Guessing the phase transition from solid to gas also adds a significant amount of mayhem. "Ooh, the death Rock that lights things on fire by just looking at them is also now jet-propelled".

#1 i moved into my ex's house that way. Every time I stayed over I brought an overnight bag, and left with it mostly empty, until he noticed, and cleared out some wardrobe space for me

#7 nope. Image compression has long since destroyed most colours in between with lossy compression. That's what generational loss means, you take picture that was already compressed, upload it again and it's compressed again... So you get generational loss. JPEG2000 was invented to fix this issue. Jpeg has this issue. PNG is lossless compression. Why? Because I took colour picker tool to this image, it doesn't have any hidden colours and many adjacent ones have become 1:1 the same...
iamrunningoutofideas
I'm also suspicious that an RGB display can even properly show a tetrachromal image, pretty much by definition.

#14 yeah I don’t buy it. My coriander got absolutely wrecked by aphids this spring. If anything, they protected my other plants by being so attractive to the aphids that they literally didn’t want anything but the coriander.

#5 Christ Almighty, look up dioxygen difluoride. "FOOF." https://blogs.sciencemag.org/pipeline/archives/2010/02/23/things_i_wont_work_with_dioxygen_difluoride
JohnnyLawlessEsq
Two words: Chlorine Trifluoride; an actual candidate for a rocket fuel oxidizer. “It is hypergolic with such things as cloth, wood, and test engineers, not to mention asbestos, sand, and water—with which it reacts explosively.”
Thornaxe
Chlorine binding with fluorine makes no sense chemically. I can imagine such a compound having the stability of an entire sorority during PMS.
Odincdaj522004
XeF6 SHOULD ALSO NOT EXIST. The sheer amount of energy needed to oxidize a noble gas is unsettling to think about.
Thornaxe
Fluorine is so desperate for an electron that it can steal one from a noble gas. Takes 6 fluorine to pull it off tho. Gotta gang up on the nobles. Strength in numbers and all that…
Odincdaj522004
Clarification: fluoride chemistry is terrifying, FOOF is hand-designed by Satan His-Goddang-Self, but the idea of SOLID GODDAMNED MOTHERFUCKING OXYGEN is *horrifying*

#9 In defense of Waititi's take, these people are effectively immortal unless very specifically murdered. A) After a while they've almost certainly experimented with every kind of sex, if only out of sheer boredom. B) Putting up with humans for a few centuries has GOT to be a mind-numbing experience.

It means that this image isn't a reliable test as it's been saved and uploaded so many times to have artifacting and colour degradation, not to mention it highly depends on what screen you're viewing it on.

#2 The party about the meaning of "Audio, video, disco" is completely true. The party about "disco inferno" is described as a "stretch" in the source linked below. Based on the explanation in the source, it almost seems like something that would be slang or a colloquialism if Latin was still spoken. https://lacommunarde.wordpress.com/2018/08/16/i-just-read-a-tumblr-post-that-says-in-latin/
AeroEngineer
*part, not party. Stupid autocorrect.
thetonestarr
As a linguist (but not one with much experience in Latin so take with a grain of salt), I can confirm. I believe at best, "disco inferno" can translate "I learn; I suffer." and that's still a reach.

Aziz, more light ! Then, there are five lights. Problem solved.

or if the monitor is not able to, you could still have special vision without knowing...

I saw 32 colors on my secondary monitor, moved the image over to my primary monitor and saw 36. Definitely not an internet-compatible test.

Pretty sure this is just a trick to make me sit here counting 30-40 strips of annoying similar colors.
iamdeadlol
So am I being misinformed? On the i internet? Naah...
elinveronicap
There's about 10 stripes I don't see that my husband sees, on the same screen. Doesn't mean whatever the pic says it does, but it's still fun to see the difference.
valiantaesir
If you aren't naturally tetrachromatic, store bought is fine.
sozensloth
I also saw 34 colours (there are supposed to be 39). I did a little bit of research to learn more about it and yeah... it's fake https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/people-4th-retinal-cone/
Cellestia
I see 34 even though I'm colorblind, so something's fucky here.
abmoraz
I am Colorblind. I see 5-7 different colors in ~20 different bands. Many are the same "color" just different shades. Everything from roughly the middle (where I see 2 bands of "white") to the left is some form of blue. Some I can see some variance in the bands, some are just wider bands of identical color. Then hits the "I can't tell if it's yellow, orange or light green" section that is about 30%. Then 3-4 bands of "not sure if green or brown", then the last 15% of "various shades of red"

fantastic read - tldr only 2 women have ever been proved to be TETRACHROMATS, and it can't be tested without special equipment ( ie not a normal computer monitor )
TielKiri
I saw 34 colors despite being a man. Only some women should be able to do that, according to the meme
euphoricopportunity
I counted 34, then recounted and got 32.
Orzahn
I got up to 42... But like another person said, a man should not be able to be a Tetrachromat...
3Davideo
Strictly speaking, the genetics behind classical tetrachromacy require two different copies of a gene normally located on the X chromosome. There's various ways that could happen even for a man.
TielKiri
Oh, that’s actually interesting! >.>
FarkasMacTavish
Turns out color detectrum, along with color, is also a spectrum!
FarkasMacTavish
I'm not correcting "detectrum" to "detection" and you can't make me.
TielKiri
I’d make you go back to detecrum if you tried!
