The day that Reddit forces Apollo and other 3rd party apps to shut down, in defiance of every effort to mediate a rational pricing model & massive outrage by the community ... And Imgur is getting crushed with a tidal wave of users, to the point that over traffic alerts are going off when trying to post cat pictures / post comments are not going through.
I'm sure that it is just a coincidence.

I mean, that's certainly part of it, but Twitter just implemented 'rate limits' for anybody not paying $8 and blocked access to tweets unless you log in (can't share links with non-twitter folks anymore) - I'm betting more traffic is from that shit show

The not signed in block is gone and was replaced by the rate limit.
