Deja "Twister" Vu in Niagara ...

Some of you may recall the urban legend that a drive-in movie theater had a tornado come through the screen while screening "Twister" 1996. That was not strictly accurate, it was a Monday before sunset and although in the schedule for the week, the theater was closed that night. Pictured above, the damaged screen. Fast forward to September 2024...

Yay, the Can-View is back in action since 2023 after covid doldrums with a new owner Skyway, and they're showing the new Twister movie... though should someone warn them what happened last time?

Oh there we go... but..

Noes! ... Monday, check, before sunset, check, Twister scheduled to play that week but drive-in closed that particular night... Zoom! Enhance!

Oooh, it's close ... Can-view named on google map for it's new owner at bottom left in purple... Tornado touchdown location as determined by Northern Tornados project is the red dropped pin. It is doubtful it got closer than that as the tornado was moving to the SouthEast. It is just over a mile away on this map, therefore it should have actually been visible from the Can-view if anyone had been looking the right way at the right time and knew what they were seeing. It was very rainy with it. Unfortunately warnings went out when the tornado was already on the ground, so no headsup. Good thing it wasn't too powerful.

Looks like Fate/Murphy/Irony/Zeus's aim was off this time...
