You could argue that The Orkneys are part of the British Isles (though politically they're Scottish), and the Isle of Man doesn't fit.

Most people know the difference between Europe and the EU so don't have any problem with that.
Albeit "most" does the heavy lifting in that sentence given how vocal the minority can be. : )

Just to confuse matters, the Isle of Man is neither part of Great Britain or the United Kingdom. The Channel Isles ditto, but missing. And looks like they lost Shetland in the way New Zealand often vanishes from world maps, too. : )

I don't think they like Dublin being called "tiny", either. ^^
And as for the whole of Donegal which ended up in Northern Ireland "by mistake"... (Part of Ulster but not NI.)

BTW, if you tell a fair number of the residents of the green circle that they are part of the blue circle, expect a less than friendly response.

It's just an infographic I found and am reposting. Not intending to offend anybody. WP seems to agree with the blue circle https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Isles

The graphic is correct, and 'British Isles' is just a geographic name (much like Mediterranean Islands, or Caribbean Islands might be) and has no political affiliation. However there is a clear inference that they're all 'British', which is definitely not the case. I realise you meant to offence.

Oh, and the map is oddly distorted and has the island of Ireland a lot further to the South West than it is physically.
