I'm confused. I'm female and I've never been on a date where I don't pay for my meal or ticket or whatever.

Nope. Equality reaches all aspect of life. No one gets special treatment

I don't really see why people pay for anyone else ever. Unless your in a marriage and have a shared bank account. Why set up for drama?

Mmm, girls eating off a guy's penis. Have I read this right?

She has a friend who just buys her food? Is he busy?

Assuming they were NOT going to be friends (and she never bought dinner for them both) after the breakup splitting the check is correct

When a woman can make the same money for the same job and experience, I'll consider this ethics question. Until then, I'm buying.

This is very cute and logical and awesome of you, I split because I'm afraid if "owing" a guy something

My wife and I trade, or sometimes split when we go out to fancy places and the bill is 200+. But its all the same money I guess...

Did you ask the waiter without her hearing? If so, then it's a bit of a shitty thing. Just a little though.

The penguin post isn't mine, I just added it so that comments made would make sense to people.

Ah, well that would be my tipping point. If they -ARE- "friends", she shouldn't be upset about paying her share after a few dates.

I always try to pay for about 1/2 the meals I eat with my guy friends, mostly because it would make me peeved if some always mooched off me.

Well I pay for the meals 1/2 the time and they pay the other 1/2, so it sort of balances out.We end up spending about the same as each other

And while I appreciate their company I'm not paying for their food all the damn time.

You mean you pay for their meals too when you pay? That was not previously implied, I apologize

Yessir! Either that or I 'go dutch.' Sorry I wasn't more clear about it before.
