Only had moderate rain so far, sounds like a gurgling brook. Each cup drains at the bottom so no standing water for bugs

They're called 'rain chains'. We have them on all of our downspouts & they make a nice burbling sound at most. You can find beautiful ones!

They don’t even work like a gutter downspout needs to in tornado alley thunderstorms, and whatever noise they do make is drowned out by wind

It’s so that the water coming off the roof doesnt hit the ground where it would dig a hole. It diverts it to whatever direction it’s pointed

Thanks! called a splash block. It catches the water from the rain chain and sends its out of my flower beds to where the ground slopes away
