My better half called, and said she'd found a bat on the steps behind our house, cooking in the sun. He didn't look too good.
He didn't move much when I picked him up. I used one of my winter gloves just in case.
I grabbed a bottle of water and poked a hole in the top of it. I figured he might be thirsty, and was right. He drank quite a few drops.
He looked quite a bit better and was moving around much more, so I took him to the woods and put him on a tree branch.
Just look at that smile!

they said they used winter gloves so I imagine they're thicker than 4mm. I doubt a fruit bat can bite through gloves that thick.

A fruit bat might be able to, but this is definitely not a fruit bat. Little guy most likely eats bugs. Fruit bats are huge and tropical

bats around me feed off mostly fruit and bugs, I just call em fruit bats. Still I doubt this one can bite through the glove or w/e.

It's irrelevant. There are people trained to handle species like this. Releasing it w/out proper care is certain death
