I'm entertained by how many of the console descriptions in each ad said "realistic graphics"

64 BITS OF PURE POWER

That's what we need again. I want a translucent blue PS4.

That gold tamagotchi

Seems like portable fighting game ports have actually gotten better.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Shit that reminds me. I haven't fed my Tomagotchi in 15 years. Hope he's ok

Insert helix fossil shop onto a Tamagochi

Game gear was my spirit animal for family road trips

i think i have atleast one friend who was born right around when i got my N64

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I cried looking at this, makes me miss my 7 year old self...

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wish there was just a button you could press to go right back to then.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

N64 was a pain to get that first year. I believe the PS4/XB1 shipped more consoles each on day 1 than N64 did the first 3 months.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And people complain about game prices now. Back then OPs literally could not suck enough dicks to get the $$$ for 1 game.

11 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

Wish I could take this to Walmart and demand price matching on random things.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

at a certain point in time, these prices will be true again.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Systems may have been cheaper, but back then $200 was a fortune to me. $300-500 is much more doable w/ a job (and self control / saving)

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah do you have any idea how much work I had to do to convince my parents to get me a ps1.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

N64 was a triple "all-you're-getting" Christmas gift for me and my 2 brothers... The year AFTER it came out. I feel the pain

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wanted a ps1 the christmas they came out, we were poor so I have no idea how they afforded it. Even came with 2 games.

Vector man was badass

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

So fucking amazing at the time, freaking 3D on megadrive and funny as hell

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn. That's actually kinda neat.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Analog joystick actually looks pretty legit even by today's standards.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

LOOK! All the Sega Saturn games ever on one page!

DAAAAYTOOOOOONA

I never could figure out what the fuck was going on with Nights.

God i wish controllers were still 30 bucks. Now it's like, i can play a game with a friend or buy another game. New game wins every time

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Newer controls are also packed with tech. Rumble, wireless connection to system, built in battery, tilt sensors, touch pads, etc.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair those old controllers sucked. Except (S)NES, that's timeless and you don't need anything fancy.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There aren't any good multiplayer games on the ps4 these days anyway

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Call of duty still offers couch coop online and off. Zombies is a lot of fun but damn is it still expensive to buy the dlc in any of them.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Adjusting for inflation, those controllers would be about $45 in 2015. Still less than Xbox One or PS4, but not as much as you'd think.

I CAN SMELL THE PAGES.

Free Virtua Fighter 2, Daytona USA, AND Virtua Cop when I buy a SEGA Saturn! Goodbye IMGUR, hello Toys-R-Us~

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Blocky SNES with all-purple buttons? "Genesis"? lolmerica.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

With inflation, that N64 is like $300

11 years ago | Likes 145 Dislikes 1

I'm kind of horrified now that my dad bought me one.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those games are around 90-100

11 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

And we still complain about $60 games.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

the standard n64 is $199 but the gold one is $149???

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Shit you're right wth ?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think that page is actually from a different flyer.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That same page also mentions that the tamagotchi will be available Dec. 1 1997. So either the wait time was ridiculous or you are right.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fuck you, Vectorman

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That was the first game I can really remember being so over-hyped for such a mediocre game.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Didn't like it ?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Suuuuuuuuuuper random post lol

My parents BUSTED their ass to get me the n64 for Christmas the year it came out. Also got a vcr and Jurassic park. Best. Christmas. Ever.

11 years ago | Likes 101 Dislikes 1

And what have you done for your parents in return? Got my mom a big ass tablet and tablet lessons (she needed them)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I got an N64 and a TV for my room that year. I realize now that my parents did it knowing they'd never get to watch TV otherwise.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

A VCR and Jurassic park dam son, that was some hug tech stuff back then!

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

N64 and The Ocarina of Time. 1998's Fallout 4.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Replaying Ocarina on the 3ds was the best choice I ever made

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...did you just compare a Zelda game to a Bethesda title?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Twenty years ago Zelda blew us all away with its new 3D interface.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He was comparing the levels of hype and excitement, not gameplay.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Uh... Fallout 2 came out in 1998...

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I was 13 years old and I stayed up 24 hours straight with that game at first. Mom came to check on me and I told her to bring me more coffee
