In a heavily chlorinated pool, they'd survive possibly hours to a day before serious distress, with death possible within a few days. However, they'd start showing signs of serious stress within minutes. But those minutes are all we need for them to cause a panic like this.
The real issue would be that piranha don't normally see humans as food like that... but this *is* Wednesday we're talking about here, I wouldn't put it past her to have piranha she's custom trained to see humans as food... so the question ends up being: is this worth the sacrifice of all the work she had to do to teach the piranha to eat humans?
