Driving home from work yesterday, took a left hand turn, clipped the gravel (no shoulder) with my right rear tire, car spun left across the lanes and into a ditch and fence where it began to flip/roll. Several times.
And no, was not texting or doing anything other than driving. Not drinking either.
Immediately upon stopping, undid seatbelt, turned off ignition, and crawled out sunroof. I was scared the car was about to catch on fire.
Side airbags almost definitely saved my life. Front airbag did not deploy.
Not my best parking job.
TL;DR WEAR SEATBELTS. Definitely saved me. And kudos to Honda for a strong Civic.
whozilla
Nice car.
HowDoYouInternet
Did you try turning it off and back on again?
TheSplendidEntity
Good thing it was a Honda!
TheNotoriousKGB
That will buff out.

Eh, that'll buff out.

Maybe you're the Highlander?
aaroneugenefleming
That should buff right out with a little wax and elbow grease.

As a PA guy, can confirm that vehicles with OH tags often have difficulty with bends in the road :) Glad you're OK. +1 FOR SEATBELTS

Parking job is 1/10

If the car rolls over the front airbag is not supposed to deploy. If it did it would be a bigger threat to you if the roof collapses.
Scallygirl
Glad you are okay OP but as someone who is new to driving this has just scared the shit out of me. Thanks!
miserableprincess
This, I'm terrified I'll crash and die horribly.
AMachineHead
Glad you're okay OP, that is terrifying

Gimme stats, age, occupation sex, weather, you know stats. Oh and that'll buff right out. Lastly, on 7.3% of wrecks catch fire
PicklsMasterson
that sounds like a pretty high portion.
IMakeUpRandomFacts
That's what I thought when I made it up. I do that ya know
