Help! Does anyone know what's going on with my computer?

Either the girl from the ring will crawl out or you have a poltergeist. Only logical explanations.

It's stuck in a looping gif. You're welcome.

The Matrix is tired of your crap Neo.

It could be the cable running from the computer to the monitor or the ribbon wire if it's a laptop @requit may also be correct

It's a desk top.

Before assuming the more expensive then try seeing if moving the video cable helps

It flashes for a split second like this and when it does it freezes all videos or gifs that i"m looking at. It does it every minute or so.

Try reinstalling your graphics driver. It's really easy to do. I can walk you through it if you like.

Hmm. Maybe. I'm heading to work now but can I send you a message in the morning?

Sure thing. It's what I do for a living. I live East Coast btw.

Very likely your video card is dying due to too much heat over too long a period of time. Or your monitor is dying. Too little to go on.

Or the cable is loose/chewed on...

My monitor is about 4 months old but my video card is closer to 2 years so I'm going to guess the video card.

Use FurMark to stress your video card. If the problem gets worse, start saving up to buy a new one.

I have no idea what that means

Google "FurMark". Download the program. Run it. If you see more weird things, buy a new video card.

Dying video card. I'd suggest baking it.

Never heard of actually baking a card, but makes sense. I fixed my Xbox RROD by throwing towels over it to overheat it...surprisngly worked

THIS IS LEGIT, BTW. It's not like putting your iPhone in the microwave. Actually.. do that as well.

Thank you. this makes me nervous to do and I wanted to re build my computer anyway so I may just get a new one. This just give me an excuse.

So I learned that it's an integrated card. What do I do?

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Little harder, not impossible. You'll have to bake the entire motherboard, same rules apply. Make sure to remove the cmos battery too.

I'm not sure what a cmos battery is. I'm not very good with computers.

12 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a flat disk battery on the motherboard. Looks like a watch battery, but bigger.

I'm afriad to do this... Can I just buy a new one? :P
