I think people incorrectly make the assumption that people who are asexual don't want a romantic bond period. I'm not ace, but I think i do understand the feeling of being attracted to someone emotionally but not physically. But I NEED both of those attractions for a relationship to work

I think the bittersweet ending makes it better; it feels more real. I hope he found a partner to match him eventually, but the idea that it'd be his first, and while he was young, is even more of a stretch than it would be for someone "normal"

It would be, but I gave up dating because I got tired of all the drama. I would LOVE to be in a romantic (non-sexual) relationship, but so many people conflate sex with love, and it winds up leading to misunderstandings and hurt feelings.
