Just a posing T-800

Feb 16, 2025 11:49 AM

Trying to find a pose that will be at least something that the final product will have. The distance between the heel of the left (his left) foot and the toes of the right foot must not exceed 80 cm. But pref a lot less to avoid making it look cramped inside the base circle.

With this pose it will be around 70 cm. I hope to narrow it a bit.

You will probably want to give the neck a slight curve, too?

Nice to get to see the progress you're making.

I have a ton of stills from the movie where you can see how Winston et al articulated the puppet's posture.

I've made a bust, and I've made an arm, don't think I'd have the patience for a complete model. (not that I wouldn't want to)

I totally get you! What part of the process do you find the worst?

Sanding, by far. I have the problem of being somewhat of a perfectionist at times. Mix that with chrome and you're gonna have a bad time :D If I were to make a full size one maybe I should go for a battle-worn look instead so you don't have to hunt those last few little scratches all the time.

Agreed! I have since long given up on the idea of a flawless model. The person who inspired me (a Danish guy named Hobbyworld on youtube) brushed on some resin after sanding eliminating the more fine lines. I might try something like it for mark II.

Maybe look at classical sculptures for inspiration?

Yes! Ive been watching lots of behind the scenes stuff and also looking at similar models for sale. These first pose-tries will give me a hint on how much i will cut the iron rod. Its way to long atm :)
