I feel like this study actually showed that people who have naturally healthy bodies have strong lower bodies and strong brains. While the poster was trying to draw the conclusion that if you hit the gym and work out your thighs you'll live forever
Correlation is not causation. At best it is a theory. Have any sources (links) to the studies? We've seen a correlation between cardiovascular health and overall health, so it may be a strong correlation, a theory, but not a proof.
A few years back my legs were very weak, as was my right arm, but following fusion of my neck and six screws holding it together my arm and legs are gaining in strength, now my problem is with my left arm getting really weak, hope I don't have to get operated on again
This doesn't "prove" anything. It's hardly surprising that individuals who are healthier and in better physical shape, have better long term prognosis than individuals that are less healthy and are in worse physical shape, which is all that this "study" shows.

well, I'm fucked.

I have doubts. My job is literally standing all day doing monotonous physical tasks. I have calves of steel and the thickest brain fog.

Okay, this needs some good proof and a source. Snappy images without anything backing it up feels clickbaity.
Sebastopol140
For a second I read clickbaity as dickbaity... and it kind of made sense.
Clockworkdancerobot
No that's the "Anyone wanna DM?" posts.
rolliefingers
Well I read dickbaity as dickabilly and thought... Hello genre of music I have been looking for all my life
Sebastopol140
Oh, sounds interesting yeah.

Perhaps a source? Literally any reputable medical journal?
PeaceOnEarthGoodPornToAll
But they're pointing at pictures of brains and there's text over it. How much more legit can we get?
IIXRandomXII
Thats enought to get though peer review
rolliefingers
Question, does The Big Book of Cats qualify as a peer-reviewed scientific journal?
sakm
It's certainly had more review than slop posts copied off instagram or whatever lol
rolliefingers
Revisiting this five hours later, I see that purr-reviewed was right there. I must re-evaluate my life.
