Just stumbled on destiny blues artwork and instantly had a great connection! She expresses so much emotion into each piece. I like the "glow" she adds as well. Thought I'd share!

I believe I met her at a con once. Took a class in drawing anime that was led by her. Very cool girl.

It makes me happy to see so many comments simply implying how nice this amazing artist is, I hope she truly knows how appreciated her art is

paying attention and putting detail into complimentary colors really pays of. beautiful art

Noticed a lot of comments on the artist's age. Her art is influenced by a severe case of depression, from what I understand.

10 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

Yep, its been bad enough that shes been hospitalized a couple of times in the last two or so years

10 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

the characters mostly look so unhappy. beautiful artwork though!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Her artwork is inspired by her own depression and anxiety. I had such a huge connection with it because I myself suffer from mental illness

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've had depression before (manic-depression), but I've never seen it as beautiful, nor romantic, never like those pictures.

I like the colours

never really been a fan of symbolism art but i like her stuff

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This artwork is very similar in style to the web comic "Ava's Demons" if anybody is interested in seeing more things with this style.

Looks more like 15 to me, but maybe she is advanced.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

As an artist I was too busy looking at the lighting and colour to notice the cheesy symbolism.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Wow this art is amazing! Is there any place where I can find more of her work?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

She has an instagram and facebook, both under the name destinyblue

Ah, I met her at a con, she's super nice. I have prints of #12 and #15 hanging in my house n_n

I've met her at a local convention too! Had a great chat about her inspiration and why she draws. Very enlightening and beautiful!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's definitely now on my check list to go meet her! I read a lot about her and she is a beautiful person.

Who is the artist?

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I don't know why you're down voted

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah idk? Am I supposed to know who made this?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Destiny Blue according to the watermark

#3 Zone-sama?

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 7

I'm honestly just commenting because of your awesome name. Keep up the good work and spread our gospel across the lands.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

She hardly looks anything like Zone-tan.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Doesn't have the skull hair pendant. Or a lewd look in her eye.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She's my favorite artist! Her art soothes me and she's the nicest human being ever. Met her twice, both were heartwarming experiences :)

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Damn this style is a lot like my sister's. Hers is just less glowy.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

where did you stumble on the artist ?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was looking up information on depression, anxiety and schizophrenia and her pictures showed up as her artwork is inspired by these things

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Beautiful, awe inspiring, the use of florescent illumination is Brilliant. Such talent. I love the work.

Is an artist 15 years old girl?

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Shes in her 20s

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I see. Looks like early teens emotionally.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

That's not "teenager angst" or whatever you mean - she's depressed.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Depression and emotional immaturity won't exclude each other, don't You think?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yes it could be both, but in this case it is not the angst.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

As nice as the colouring is, the variation in facial proportions is almost non-existent. Makes it seem a bit same-y to me.

10 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 7

She also posts sketches on her Instagram and those have a lot more variation than her finished prints. Maybe it's a refining thing?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I call it the same-face syndrome.

10 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

And there's nothing wrong with that... or with how it feels to you.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I honestly thing she pulls a lot of the facial features from herself which seems to be pretty normal for portrait artists.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Honestly, it's a subconscious thing. A lot off my sketches are just made up, but people always say they look like me. I always thought 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

2/2 it might be because I have a big extended family that I grew up very close too, and we all look alike. Maybe a developmental thing?

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

1/Oh it's totally a developmental thing. I've had people say that a lot of my drawings look like me and it's often bc I use myself as a ref.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

2/ Then there's times I'll just draw myself because fuck it I can do that with my work that isn't a study or a still life haha.

#4 reminds me of the video for Damien Rice's 9 Crimes https://youtu.be/cgqOSCgc8xc

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

man... that is a damn good song, used at the ending of the episode for several TV shows I have seen, that is how I learned about it

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The demo version was used for an episode of True Blood and sounded really weird and upbeat.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damnit, I need to finish True Blood too. Have you seen the show Stalker with Maggie Q?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven't! I assume its good? I'll have to give it a try. I didn't finish the last season of TB, because it got too corny.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Also, this is probably my favorite version of the song: https://vimeo.com/3273381 It may be depressing but its sooo good!
