Some forged works I finished thisnweekend

Starting off, these are recreations of the hinges from the Mastermyr Find, an archeological discovery that answered a lot of questions on tooling from the viking age. Each set has two hinges, a latch, 10 nails, and a U nail. I'm not a locksmith so I can't make a padlock or internal lock (yet) but the vikings did have both of those.

Fun fact: room temp steel and 800F steel are the same color! I got my scheduled reminder of that while I was assembling these!

For anyone who's interested this is the Mastermyr Chest. It's essentially a travelling craftsman's tool chest. They found it in a field when a plow caught one of it's chains and people have been studying/recreating it and its contents ever since.

This is a 7" frying pan. I've used similar ones to make BLT's and other snacks while I forge but this is the first that I've made. I'm really happy with how it came out!

Lots of peening marks but I like how it looks on this piece. It's triple seasoned with olive oil.

And an extra detail I put on the bottom. This also serves to support the far side of the pan.

Pet tax today is Pepperjack. He's a very good boy and he has thumbs!
