Get rid of all the other taxes (property, business, etc) and hike up sales tax alone
This way, the people who are buying more things are getting taxed more (rich people) and the people who are buying less things are getting taxed less (poor people).
WHY?
1. This gets rid of any issues will illegal immigrants not paying their fair share of taxes. Therefore it doesn't matter if they're here or not.
2. No extra taxes on businesses would encourage businesses to stay here.
3. No need to do a ton of crazy tax files come April > people have no loopholes to pay less than their "fair share" > Almost no need for that department of government, therefore we can get rid of the majority of it and stop paying for it with our tax dollars.

That would not fix a thing, and would severely hurt a lot of people. My state has a almost 10% sales tax. And it's not enough.

Exactly. All states with no income tax make up with it on sales tax and it just doesn't work.

So I own my house that ,I payed for, but lose my job and can't pay a forced tax on my own property should the gov be able to take it from me

No because sales tax is strictly regressive. It puts a higher overall penalty on the people who have the least.

Companies have nothing to do with income tax. Plus there's a million pretax ways to shelter money.
