Not really. That's not how words work. "Help" doesn't mean what he seems to think it does. It's like watching one of those lectures about how to make money.. it's just bait for idiots.

Sure you totally rebutted his point. Good job. You are a very smart boy.

So many times. I think it's the equivalent of the sound of a record needle on the end of the record that the older generation before us had as a background noise during sex

I’ve done it to GameCube, Wii, Wii U, PS2, PS3 idle music. Never got to with newer consoles. Then again Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Switch don’t have idle music.

It sure looks like EGS artwork. I know I haven’t read in a couple of years but “dragon girlfriend” is unexpected. What did I miss?
JabesMcJabesface
The art style is what got me but yeah, I do not know the dragon girlfriend, figured maybe something recent as I let a few months build up then binge.
RatsLiveOnNoEvilStar
The only mention I remember of Dragons was around Ellen ... I think her hair changed color or something after they had that encounter with Magas in the warehouse? That is really close to the last stuff I read.
TheDisembodiedFloatingHeadOfEdwardGRobinson
#37 So is this just an old boomer humour thing, or do you guys actually not enjoy taking your girlfriends shopping? I love taking mine: I get to see her try on cute stuff, I get to suggest things I think look good on her, and I always learn a lot about what she likes and why. And it's just fun seeing her happy. What is not to like?
ILogInToUpvote
Great, now you've made me miss all the times I enjoyed those exact things when taking my ex shopping.
TheDisembodiedFloatingHeadOfEdwardGRobinson
I'm sorry. :( May I offer you a dog getting a haircut in these trying times?

Depends entirely on the people in question. Some people despise malls. Others shop "with" their partners the way I shop "with" my shopping cart. Some people simply despise shopping in the first place and prefer to know exactly what they need to get in and out in 5 minutes flat.
Grurim
Before I got married, I thought that's what it would be like. My wife is nothing like that, and I'm very glad she does most of her shopping online.
elucca
Honestly this seems like an easy thing to resolve, either way. Do you like doing it together? Then do it together. Does one partner not like it? The other can do it on their own. You don't have to do every single thing together for a relationship to work.
DWolf
Depends on whether we do things I want to do, also. If it's just about her, and what stores she wants to go into, why am I there?
Navrodel
I know two sides to this:
The first is that the girl is 100% focused on the shopping, and there really isn't anything for the guy to react to, or she doesn't react to him.
The second is that the thoughts of what their shopping for or how they'll look gets ruined by thoughts of how cluttered the space is already, or how much it will cost, or just flatly that they've been looking at otherwise interchangeable clothes racks far longer than the person has energy to be engaged in it.
Navrodel
Don't get me wrong, I love seeing my partner happy, and I do enjoy watching her light up when she finds something special, and having a chat about what pairs when I can, but 90% of the time, I'm just focused on not knocking things over in tiny aisles, or doing accounting because I'm not sure if I need to cut her off yet.
I love a thousand things about her, but the only thing that involves clothes is how happy she looks in them.
eventide215
It's the wording. If you're being dragged there you're likely not going to like it even if you normally do. If you're going to the mall with her instead of her taking you then you'll likely enjoy it.
Monkeyspearfish
Just the number of people and walking around a bland artificial environment all day is enough to put me off shopping. Also, for most of the girls I've dated, clothes shopping is as much a chore for them as it is for me.
glittalogik
I have a compressed lumbar disc, that slow shopping walk speed is murder. Either gotta keep moving out sit my ass down until you need my opinion on something.
Alphee99
You should have surgery. I did and now I still can't stand or walk or lay down or sit without still being in constant pain. My wallet was lighter though so I didn't have as much to carry so it made things a little easier.
glittalogik
Sorry to hear it! Mine's not quite severe enough for surgery yet, was doing ok with exercise and physio but moving house messed up my routines so hopefully doing a bit of a reset over the Xmas break to get back into it.

Fantastic story, characters, sound, etc. Absolutely stellar gameplay especially with every single resource gathering minigame being unique and engaging. The only game I've ever cried to, so as the others have said, brace yourself.

It’s so, so good. My wife had to stop playing; she couldn’t bear to let one of the passengers go, and the game wouldn’t move ahead without it. And it will absolutely come in with a heart-smashing sledgehammer multiple times.
PillarOfSaltShakers
I've played hundreds of games over the years, Spiritfarer was the first time I had the sensation of wet spots on my shirt and realizing 'oh, I'm crying'

#11 Huh, never really occurred to me how few people actually care about hearing about me.
ragekritz
I am a guy who does ADHD rambling and there are girls out there who actually like listening to all of it and then they tell me they do and they're not even trying to date me or they might be in a relationship themselves or even gay sometimes people like to listen and I will listen back just as much it sucks I get it though if you can't find that sometimes people tell you it's annoying I've had to learn to hold my tongue more overtime.
Someshithead241
I was starting to make a joke about "how few actually care about me" and as I was realising that was basically family but I always felt like I had to earn that care and attention.
Then I truly realised what the crux of my issues are.
n4ted4wg
A thing that frustrated me and now just makes me sad is how many women I try to talk to who are used to this. They don't volunteer anything or talk about themselves because they're used to it not being welcome. It's heartbreaking.
casbott
As someone with high functioning autism and severe ADHD (that was only diagnosed for the second time recently), that's a issue.

It's not mansplaining - I'm like this to other males.
Nathanyel
yeah, this and #10 make it out like it's something superficial, and that men don't care about the actual woman. Many men are starved for positive attention from romantic partners. And just because men often fail to communicate exact details why they love their partner, doesn't mean the partner is interchangeable.
whyforetho
In my experience, comments like that are sometimes made because the person expressing frustration wanted to talk about THEMSELVES for 10 minutes instead. (Unless the "uninterrupted" part ISN'T hyperbole)
You're good. Don't let a random internet meme get to you. There are also people who care and listen. One time I gifted a friend a big box of his favorite candy. "How did you know this was my favorite?" It was because he said it in passing at a vending machine 2 years prior.
Alaaraaf
This is a problem for men and women. If you watch people you'll notice a lot of people don't listen, they're waiting for their turn to speak.
People will think you're a fantastic conversationalist is you let them take the lead and respond to their narrative. But you will rarely if ever meet someone who does that for you.
Larktonguesinadicecup
Also, you may meet them often, but not notice, because nobody's taking the lead and conversation doesn't happen.
TheAnimalFactsGuy
It's kinda sad how little some people care about your own personal interests. I can't imagine how boring my day would be without listening to my best friends talk about their latest hyperfixations or hear about someone's current "favorite thing ever".
If someone wants to talk to you about themselves, what makes them "them", they're trying to share a piece of themselves with you and that's beautiful.
Just make sure you reciprocate that.
Badgerpie
Agree, but if they never ask about you or your life (especially at a date) then aren't they just a wee bit self-centered?
porphyre1e00
Counterpoint - check to make sure the other person allows you to reciprocate that. They may not be trying to share a piece of themselves, they may be decompressing and using you as a dump. They may just be a straight up narcissist.
While it may be fun to hear your hot mess friend's adventures, if the conversation rarely turns to you, then you need to be aware of that and decide if it's ok for you.
TheAnimalFactsGuy
Ye that's a good point. I'm used to the healthy back and forth my friends and I have. I should have mentioned that it's not always about connection and sometimes people are just only interested in talking about themselves.
ismis2
I really, really appreciate the way you ended this. It's not "if it rarely turns to you that's not ok fuck them", and it very easily could have been. I think yours is absolutely the right attitude about it. Be aware, make a conscious decision that's right for you.
Idk, I guess so many things lately have felt like they HAVE to be one thing or the other, when you show up with shades of gray and letting people decide for themselves it's refreshing enough to call out ❤️
