Yes, I know this is a convenient way to vote, but it's also lazy.

Being able to see the party affiliation on the ballot enables people to not have to research the people they're voting for.

It creates assumptions that everyone in one party or the other are essentially all the same. I understand most in each party will vote along party lines, but there are many moderates and such that will vote opposite their party on certain subjects.

Not researching your representatives before voting them in, and just voting straight Democrat or Republican is irresponsible and should not be encouraged.

Of course, I also realize that the parties in charge will never change this, because it benefits them too much to get rid of it.

Just my opinion, which will die in usersub with all my other opinions, but wanted to throw it out there after seeing all these complaints of the ballots changing the choice between O'Rourke and Cruz in the Texas early vote. It only happens when someone picks the vote by party option, so I wonder if it may have changed other votes, lower on the ballot, that people may not have noticed because they were only paying attention to and researching the Senate race.
