Some people will pluralize anything ending in an 'x' with the german -en because they find it similarly amusing. Network administrators must work on piles of computer boxen, after all. You are absolutely right, and I upvoted you... but I this like the "don't mix Greek/Latin" joke, so I upvoted them two. English is three languages in a trench coat, just hoping that no one notices.
