Help me out here...I'm a devoted Imgurian for years now, but missed the news here. Imgur execs sold Imgur to a mega-corp-cashed in-and now after a short time the megacorp went against it's promises and is cutting local staff? We've been sold out. Leopard ate their/our face? Shocked...shocked? Isn't this what mega corps DO? Buy assets, increase revenue/advertising/monetization and cut costs (which always include labor), off shore, etc? This is our capitalism...have you never watched Shark Tank? 1

When I had to get a mattress, I ended up totally ruling out a list of companies, because their reviews were full of pictures of bed begs inside their packaging. It became a nuisance, because that was a large number of the listing of 'best selling/featured mattresses.' Because apparently you can just kinda work an algorithm a little bit and shit all up in the well.

There are actually neighborhood apps, where you are networking with your immediate area. Cool idea and i am still convinced that it has potential to actually de-alienize people, if used correctly. But when i looked into one, people just used it as a kind of market place to get rid of stuff or find someone who babysitted their dog. Maybe it's the medium.
