In the long long ago of 2008 (and apparently 2012 as well) it was put on blu ray. I got it in a triple pack with Chasing Amy and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Weinstein wants a bucket load to sell distribution rights of Dogma so it's currently in rights hell/purgatory.

There's something about browsing shelves for books and movies. I am fortunate to have a public library within walking distance that has an incredible selection of movies and music. Check yours out too!

You have my fav (Fifth Element), but I didn’t see Shriek, If You Know What I Did Last Friday The 13th. It’s (in my opinion) the best spoof movie out there.

Haven't seen Shriek, sadly it's not on blu ray, my only dvd exceptions in the collection are Futurama, Simpsons and South Park due to nostalgia.

I give my digital copies to friends who can't afford to maintain a collection or have dvd's or blu rays. Sadly that's most people i know.

I started with dvd, but almost exclusively burnt dvds from rentals at blockbuster and such, actually bought less than 10, but at my peak I had over 1500 movies or tv shows burnt to dvd. I still have to 8 to 900 in dvd binders of films I've yet to get on blu ray, but admittedly dvd binders aren't as nice to show off as shelves of dvds or blu rays.

This is why I keep it simple and alphabetical, I definitely have the urge to reorganize, separate the tv and the 4k and then maybe a section just for Criterions and... and you can see why I keep it alphabetical.

I'd recommend Throughly Modern Millie. It has a young Julie Andrews trying to make it in a mans world. It's a comedy/musical set in the 20's. Which has had a lot of people I've recommended it to hesitant to watch it, but they've all throughly enjoyed it at the end. None of them even realized it's 3 hours long until it was over. Some parts maybe haven't aged well, but it's all tongue in cheek and I think self aware? It also has Mary Tyler Moore and Carol Channing.

UHF I'm trying to find used, can be a pricey purchase, but is one I'm planning to get. Run Ronnie Run is sadly only on DVD. I think I have it burnt on DVD in my mr show section in my DVD binder, I rarely have reason to pull it out these days.

Yup! DVD was only introduced in 97, wasn't until the early 00's that studios slowly stopped offering vhs versions. The last vhs released was a history of violence in 2006. Also, I wasn't serious, I don't really want it on vhs. I've got ET on vhs and that's enough for me. Though I'm looking to add an HD DVD as a piece of history. Used place near me has a couple for sale, then I need to find a... laserdisc.

It pains me to not have Mystery Men, may get the 4k soon. I've got a burnt dvd of Manos and that's probably what that film deserves, Hardboiled is under K with the Killer in a double feature set and I can't say I've heard of Mean Guns.

For what sounds like a very American film, it is ironically only available on blu ray in the UK, Germany and France. Germany really likes it, has had 3 blu ray releases there since 2015. Sadly unlike 4k discs, blu rays are region protected, so I'd need a region free blu ray player to watch those releases. Stupid capitalism.

Correct on all counts. The criterion side of my collection will never be as big as I'd like, just can't afford to collect'em all. At this point I'm waiting on Eraserhead to get a 4k release. Either I get the 4k, or buy the old blu for cheap off someone upgrading to the 4k. One day I will climb the Holy Mountain.
