Or maybe it could be 75, or 90, that would make more sense than freaking 96! It's nothing to do with the AC being on, I've gotten this score when driving without AC, this is just the first time I managed to get a picture of it. And yes, that is the maximum number of little boxes you can get.

Nothing in the real world is ever 100%, they actually are telling the truth, good for them.

Makes me think of Mary Cagle comic about eco score:

Because 100 would mean not driving the vehicle at all.

It literally tells you what is being measured right there. It's your driving style. Are you trying to drive perfect every day? If you want 100, do better.

I'm aware of what the score means. What I don't get is why the top score is 96 (and it is the top score). It's just a very odd number to pick.
VCJunky
Because it's not the top score. Guaranteed you are pressing too hard or too fast on either the accelerator or the brake. You may think you are driving perfect but you're not. You need to control your foot movement like a robot to get top score. The score is not a measure of how good or how skilled or even how safe someone drives. The score ignores all of those things and is ONLY a measure of fuel efficiency.

Well, I sit corrected. Apparently top score is in fact 100. But I have zero idea exactly what I'd need to do better - I got full blue boxes, which is not easy in L.A. traffic. I can definitively say that *my* top score is 96.
