"Non-negotiable"

The Republican Senate's first offer on coronavirus contains jaw-dropping language. It doesn't only make businesses immune from almost any conceivable coronavirus lawsuit. It would let businesses and the government sue anyone filing such a lawsuit.

This is the provision Mitch McConnell says he won't pass a second round of coronavirus stimulus without.

McConnell said this language is "non-negotiable" in the now-overdue Senate GOP relief bill. (The Democrat-controlled House passed its own relief bill in May, which McConnell never took up for debate.)

It's likely McConnell doesn't have the votes in his own caucus for any new relief at all and will have to negotiate with Senate Democrats for their support passing the bill.

Page 52 line 24 is where the crazy pills start. Under this language the defendant and the federal DoJ could sue anyone who so much as sends an email asking extra pay in exchange for waiving the right to sue.

As usual the Democrats are busy negotiating with themselves.
