WTF you mean "house valve"? Street pressure in most major cities without buildings over 5 stories is 45 - 55 psi.

Transmission lines frequently operate at much higher pressures, and then get regulated down to distribution pressure. I’ve worked on one in west LA that came down a long hill and was around 300psi where it hit a reg station at the bottom.
