Psychologist here, this is great advice for mild symptoms. Exercise and yoga could relieve a lot of symptoms as well. Msg me for more info.

"If not, jog for the length of an EDM song at your favorite tempo". Because when I think suicide prevention, EDM is the music of choice.

Pffft i have NEVER needed nuts or hummus. Steak, burger, wings. Something dies for my sustenance.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Wow. This is what I've been needing, I think. Thank you.

"Have a glass of water"? Oooh, okay mister moneybags.

11 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 2

According to this I'm having a bad LAST THREE YEARS

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

On the other hand, I can go whole days without drinking water because I don't get thirsty. Then I get real cranky.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Are you bored? Furiously masturbate to pass the time.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Feeling ashamed of masturbating? Fight through the pain and do it again.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hand cramping and it's beginning to hurt too much to enjoy? Take as many pain killers as it takes to keep going.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I answered "Fuck you." to most of these

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Having done all of these I still feel like a useless bag of shit...

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate this shit. Here's a list of shit to try before suicide? Oh that didn't work? Well you put it off for a week you're fine. Pussy.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Except this is for less severe cases of sadness or depression. There are other resources for suicidal thoughts and things of that severity.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

FYI: Dehydration is also a major cause of headaches!! Drinking water is a good first step to solving a lot of body problems.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Overdrinking can bum you out too though, listen to your body.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Favorignored. When I start feeling down enough that this would be relevant, I don't even really want to not feel like shit, really.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Just gotta let it happen and pass hey

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These are actually insightful pieces of advice. I've done a few of them once or twice.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm still not okay

Damn how common is it for people not to shower everyday?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is great, because it reminds you that feeling miserable can come from practicalities instead of something fundamentally wrong about you

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eat some carbs too, nuts will likely fill your stomach but not give a good fast boost of blood sugar.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This list is severly inadequate in dealing with anything serious.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

On its own perhaps. This list and remembering the CBT methods I've learned in therapy has helped me a great deal since I fist saw it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

CBT?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Basically actively thinking through the reasons why I feel depressed specifically in order to disarm it. (1/2)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It doesn't really do anything about my dysthemia, but it helps prevent acute episodes of my major depression. https://goo.gl/zTlvdN (2/2)

Do you owe money to every single business you've come in contact with in the last year? Well, you're fucked.

11 years ago | Likes 141 Dislikes 0

If you owe money to a company, talk to them about it. Don't ignore them, that makes it worse. Talk to them and they will work with you.

those things that some people have?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Of course your friends would say you're attractive, they're all a bunch of liars. Yeah, they'll come to my birthday alright. IN CHAINS

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I took one and posted it, everyone on 4chan said, "Fuck you" and "Kill yourself fagot".

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

this list was not written by anyone trained in mental health services.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Exactly that's the worst advice in this post, my selfies get -1 a swear

This post isn't bad but also a lot of stuff on there is extremely difficult to do if you suffer from depression/anxiety.

11 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 4

"Have seen a therapist in the past few days" Fuck that talking about emotions and shit

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Exactly, just putting your worries out of mind is more easily said than done.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Agree because you just don't have the energy and enthusiasm for anything even though you know it will do you good

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

A lot of it isn't that hard and will help your depression/anxiety. Do what you can if you're in that boat. (I've been there myself).

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

It's even easier when you aren't depressed!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Life is easier when your not depressed. But if one depressed person reads this and is able to do it and save their life its worth it.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I've accepted my depression diagnosis is a terminal one. This exact list has helped me pull away several times since I first came across it.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I agree. Has anyone else noticed that depression is a "terminal" diagnosis for a lot of people? It's like diabetes, the goal is management.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Not complete and instant recovery.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But when I was depressed, I would have been like "ugh, it's too much effort to to all these things. I'll commit suicide later"

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This is why I will only ever own a gun if I'm actively using it daily on zombies, demons, or some other invasive apocalyptic species.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's the point. Challenging yourself to do difficult small things, even just one, can seriously help. Source: am bipolar

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's a good point - this list is AMAZING for people who are feeling kinda down, but depression is a wee bit stronger than that.

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

And it's helped my friend with BPD. Lists like this and remembering our CBT methods have helped a LOT.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I first came across this a few months ago (major depression w/ severe episodes and general dysthemia here) and I've found a lot of value.
