Someone in a comment section was spouting a decent paraphrase of this utter bullshit, and I wanted to upload this so that I can respond to them with it. But man, this is important for everyone to see.

Just remember that if you feel like there's no point in even trying to untangle this utter fucking mess we're in, it's in no small part because there are people out there maliciously doing their best to make you feel exactly that. They want you to feel that way *precisely* because they know they are on shaky ground. They desperately need people to stop trying so hard to shut them and their agents down, to stop investigating their misdeeds, to stop talking about their hypocrisies.

So don't feel down, guys, or like there is no point. Feel manipulated, feel cheated, feel pissed the fuck off. This isn't the time to question whether we can fix things, this is the time to rally forth, to put reservations aside and do our best. Call out people spreading bigoted, toxic, or disingenuous ideologies when you see them proselytizing. Call for facts, for evidence, for supporting data, for rational thought and logical conclusions. Call for accountability. And, more importantly than anything else, show up on election days. Get out there and fucking vote, every chance we get.

Thanks for pushing normal people further to the left and birdpersons further to the south

Amen. Also, it's important not to fall for this stuff yourself. Just because you disagree with something doesn't mean everyone else who 1

also disagrees with it is correct. If you let yourself be 'pushed' you're letting yourself be manipulated- stick with what's correct. 2

The mix of anonymity, mass social media overload, and global communication means you can't tell the difference between trolls and morons.

Well, if someone consistently acts like a moron, that's practically a moron anyway, give them the same treatment.

Agreed, but I'm of the opinion that it doesn't matter. The important thing is for bystanders to see someone contesting the narrative.

Are the two so dissimilar, anyway?
