This is Vergil. Twin brother of Dante, son of the Legendary Dark Knight Sparda and a human named Eva, he is part of the Devil May Cry universe. Contrary to popular belief, DmC:Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 1/2/3/4 do NOT take place in the same universe. DmC is an entirely new universe created with very few similarities to its namesake.
Being a half demon with a powerful lineage, Vergil can invoke the full might of his demonic blood. In this state, his speed, strength and regeneration are exponentially increased past their already impressive natural levels
Vergil's signature weapon, the Yamato. It was a keepsake from his father. The Yamato is a demonic sword imbued with tremendous power. This allows the sword to cut through anything that isn't related to the powers of Sparda.
It can even slice straight through dimensions to hit enemies that are unable to be physically cut with the blade.
Vergil's swordsman ship is at a level far beyond that of a simple master. His skill far surpasses that of Dante and it is speculated that his swordsmanship possibly even surpasses Sparda. A demon who was known throughout all of the demon world for his swordsmanship.
Vergil has but one goal
Vergil is capable of fighting at speeds that the human eye cannot detect.
Capable of teleportation, Vergil can also naturally move extremely fast
Low level demons are mere fodder to Vergil
Even mid tier demons pose no challenge
Since Vergil only uses melee weapons, logically a couple of guns should defeat him right?
Not exactly.
Using firearms against Vergil tends to end up with YOU being the one taking fire. Vergil views firearms as cowardly weapons that a true honorable warrior would not use.
Vergil is absolutely ruthless. He shows no mercy for an already defeated enemy.
Vergil is quite the agile combatant
Even large powerful demons fall to Vergil's skill without much effort.
Vergil doesn't exactly get along well with his little brother.
Vergil is skilled at dealing with multiple opponents.
Even though he and Dante are polar opposites of one another, Vergil shares Dante's love for big dramatic entrances.
Vergil does not tolerate failure. He will dispatch his allies if they are no longer of any use to him.
Vergil will not hesitate to kill any Human who happens to even slightly annoy him.
These poor fools had no idea who they were messing with
Vergil does not tolerate incompetence. This poor librarian brought him the wrong book, so he cut her clean in half.
Vergil is also skilled at Hand to Hand combat should the need arise
Here we see Vergil knocking multiple enemies into the air
After Dante uses his plot armor to defeat Vergil in Devil May Cry 3, Vergil chooses to stay in the demon world.
Vergil was eventually brainwashed by the Demon Emperor Mundus into becoming his personal Knight. Here, he is known as Nelo Angelo. A translation error resulted in this name as his original name was supposed to be 'Nero' Angelo which translates to Black Angel in English.
Nelo Angelo was defeated by Dante during the events of Devil May Cry 1 and hasn't been seen since.
Think Vergil is awesome yet? No? Lets see what Vergil himself has to say about that.
