Quick, upvote before Americans wake up! (Math should check out, maximum sphere that can be carved out of a cube has 47.6% of its volume).
Edit: 47.6% is the difference in mass, not the ball volume. Sorry I’m stupid
breaktimeandimbored
I would. But was told no budget for a dolly.
z3253304
Your math is bad and you should feel bad
Skumbo
Hate to nit pick. so I wont
lurkeronthecompound
How bout deliver said cube as per directive.
jl2t17ilra8m17c
People in the comments are taking this too literally, focusing on big-dealing the mathematics of it, instead of just enjoying the irony.
joshcrimson
I think 4.76kg would be the weight of the remaining mass if you removed a sphere of the same diameter from the cube, rather than the sphere.
SerenePrincess013
Normally, I'd agree w/ tou, but speaking as someone w/ upper body damage, 10kg is an impossible weight to lift.
frizbi
Oh shit. Yup, it’s the difference
HOAMTH
Do you lot not see that this doesn't represent working smarter but rather working faster by... cutting corners? *fingerguns*
Ministellar
Again, Americans don't sleep.
DandyLion23
>47.6%. If the density is uniform, then mass == volume, right?
Deleteded
Too late, early rising American. Take an upvote anyway. Nothing wrong with them metric system. Old habits are hard to break, especially-
Deleteded
-when everything is designed in empirical measurements already and I don't want to have to buy anymore tape measures.
MarkSoupial
Taking the time to carve the ball out after pushing it that far says fair a bit about the headstart they had over the others.
ENCHANTMEN
I like how he decided to painstakingly carve away the cube instead of putting it on a cart or a truck
SaltyHermitShoe
Solution. roll a big sphere to the destination and then carve it into the cube
duhitspollo
Should have used a dolly on the cube
Jarzii
A version of the original picture that isn't stupid would use a cart to move your 10kg cheese cube, rather than pushing it across the ground
Op010101
so he can make a sphere but not a wheel...or like 4 with a bar between and some rope so.it could go zoom zoom. Not a smart man
TheFunGuyinOz
Hell, don't apologise! ... I have almost no idea how you calculated volume from square to sphere... maths is not my thing.
flappinmudbeans
You are lucky I'm hungover you nitwits
GnomeDeGuerre
It's a stupid meme that assumes a lot.
HansVerhaegen
Also Gary, how are we gonna stack those marbles of yours? Huh? Huh Gary?!
sharkmommychompers
Usually the ones to "cut corners" are people who stand to gain the most not people trying to make it easier....
DrZev
Why not attach some of those round discs to the four corners of the bottom of the cube? I think those things are called "wheels".
WeMistbornsNeedNotMakeSense
The time spent to turn that cube into a sphere should have made him way behind anyways
sarkonas
Had a coworker like that. "I don't know why all you guys do it the hard way" Me: "Because your way is actually illegal, you absolute egg!"
GiftedMagnet
“stabs him”
Apoapsis
"Because this thing needs to last 10 years and your way won't make it 6 months."
DarkBusterBaron
I need more context what the hell did he do?
sarkonas
Can't say much, government office work, misuse/potential leak of sensitive personal data of clients to save time and avoid lengthy procedure
LandiniusMaximus
I've worked with people who had that picture as a motivation.. they were always the dumbest fuckers and cut corners on everything..
PunIshErnest
They cut so many corners, that they lost 47.6% of the product.
NaughtButOne
It's most of the workforce, in my experience. Call "neglecting your duties" -> "working smarter", and you're no longer a villain.
laisametschbaetzlaondsoidawirschd
Why would someone push a 10 kg cube over the ground, let alone carve it in a sphere? Lift and carry that shit, 10kg is really not that heavy
Hellscourge
Get a fucking cart. Jesus.
Bokkanb
Also.. if you're gonna carve.. carve a cylinder.
therealbardman
I’d put it all of them on a forklift and do them all in one go.
wsc48skti85
Hire workers for minimum wage and build a cube pushing emporium
Mageworks
And if it was, why not get everybody to work together to lift each cube?
smellsmiketeenspirit
Because that's socialism. I am not responsible for your inability to take care of your cube. /s
smellsmiketeenspirit
/s stands for sarcasm, not socialism
pirate4lifes
Just get a hand dolly or a pallet jack
gipper
If they polish their floor frequently, pushing it probably wouldn't be difficult either. <.< >.>
Morenn
Maybe it is just 10kg but to big to carry?
laisametschbaetzlaondsoidawirschd
The bigger the object, the bigger the buoyancy, every m^3 of volume reduces the weight (not mass) by 1,2kg. At little over 8 m^3 it floats.
LordHosk
But you can see from the image it is not.
Gababu
put it in a cart.
Onsvaltti
Right? I mean, sometimes huge cardboard boxes are not heavy, but the shape is difficult to carry if there is no holes for hands ?
PrfctDrk
Capitán Específico!
BigFatBobbie
Maybe none of this was based on reality.
zengaisfamous
Hate to nitpick, but I’m an American who doesn’t sleep. I’ve been here the whole time! Now what’s a Kg?!
ReginaKasteen
It's a keg, they're really shoving huge crates of beer.
L4dead2
A kilogram and I'm American
Nippledeepinahorse
About a 1/29 of a washing mashine
LloydGross73
Try 1/80
clawthewolf
Originally defined as the weight of a litre of water, it is now defined via the plank constant, since mass is a form of energy
YoSamiteSam
Metric is this sort of circular system of weights and measures because reality is fake, and the coding is really sloppy.
JCBalance
Kelsey Grammer
SexDungeonsandDragons
A thousand grams if I'm not mistaken
FrankJustice1
My gram isn't very heavy on her own, but a thousand of them must weigh tons!
Poipoine
Not even close
Apoapsis
Customer asked for 22 lb cubes; Gary is delivering an 11.5 lb ball.
dunkum09
its shorthand for King, the standard unit of weight in most monarchies, so a lot of Europe. those cubes weigh as much as 1 king
dunkum09
well...ok, like 5 countries in europe
Woodturner360
But some kings were heavier than others…. And isn’t that kind of sexist considering the Queen?
dunkum09
yes, it has to be updated regularly, and varies by country. for queens some use the queen's weight, others use the former king
mrromero
A kegel, but after you take out the eel
mossc8
Approx 7 bananas
TheLaziestRaccoon
Why would you take out the eel?
TheDoctormoriarty
Cause the kegel killed it
iamdanman
Why are they delivering cubes that way? In full suits
kushezz
Dress for the job you want?
iamdanman
Fuck office work
kushezz
Could also be a door to door Mormon.
belligerentrightdoer
That's what the customer wants obviously.
iamdanman
Manual labor is a bitch in jeans and a t-shirt with ppe. I can’t imagine a full suit, customer can kiss my ass
MikeF1982
True, would you do it if they paid you 50% more? 100%...there's a line where most people will say yes.
iamdanman
Well I bust my ass 40+ hours a week for chump change and an education that’s paid for. So pay is not the only factor
