Ncuti Gatwa is the new Doctor! Love him in Sex Education. Looking forward to this

Well this will be interesting. I loved him in sex education. It was a great show.

That’s right.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thats kinda the point they don't like to cast big name actors as the doctor

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly. It's the best part of it

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

NCUTI GATWA!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This response is hilarious on many levels. +1

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

What are the other levels?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eric!!!

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

He barely has and movie credits, I can't wait to see how he does. Fingers crossed he better be better than Jodie

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Jodie was fine, none of the stories were compelling.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Agreed. In fact, I would say I really enjoyed her portrayal and loved the supporting cast

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Chibnall is getting the boot, so at the very least the writing should (hopefully) improve. RTD did ok his first time around, so, we'll see!

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Won't undo the damage chinball has done, nor undo the retcon that kicked the 60 year history square in the nuts

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Who is nothing but plasma welding things on to existing canon and then working in support beams as needed to keep it upright.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Doctor! You're.." "Alive? Yes!" "No I mean.." "A man again I know" "I..forget it, you're still wearing a bra you know" "And?"

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

Ngl, that would be hilarious. Also, it was so creepy how oversexualized they made him realizing he changed genders.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Let's GOOOOOOOO

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Never heard of him

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Cool. Gave a damn impressive performance in Sex Education.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Now if only the writing improves enough to make use of it.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope that he's still in it, but now probably not anymore

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look if they get some actually good writers maybe they can recover but damn do they need to retcon a lot of nonsense first.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Nice I hope the writing isn't shit

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I know who he is, and like his work, but my gripe is WHY ARE YOU TELLING US INSTEAD OF LETTING US BE SURPRISED DURING REGENERATION?!?!?!!?!?

4 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 3

We passed that up a long time ago.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'm guessing to get ahead of the racists.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Lol "ahead" of people stuck with misguided past views

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's a common tactic for companies to announce something in advance that may be controversial in order to diffuse its impact. Sad but true.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Because we live in a time where they need to build hype. Thus tell us 80% of the surprises long before we get to see them unfold.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They haven't done that since the 70's. We always know in advance.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

for 'The Message'

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If they make the announcement, they can do it on their own terms, instead of it leaking at some point.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They've announced the new doctor before every previous modern doctor has left. This isn't new.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They are desperate to get some kind of good news out to stop the death spiral

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They actually made a talk show-style special to reveal Peter Capaldi.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel like they'd have a really hard time keeping it quiet.

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

HOW THOUGH?!?! I don't recall ANY OF US KNOWING who WHO would be for the last 4 Doctors

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Pretty sure they were all also announced (or leaked) ahead of time

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Any of us? Who you speaking for? Certainly not me.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Maybe my brain is failing me but I feel like the first we found out about Capaldi was a cutaway shot to his eyebrows.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Really? Perhaps I missed it? Too be fair, I'm in the US so perhaps there's different material being shared?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There was a whole studio based show presented by Zoe Ball with a full audience before Day of the Doctor aired. It was a little much...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'd have preferred an older actor. The writing and acting will have to be exceptional to sell another young guy in the role.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's pronounced "Shooty", if anyone is curious about his first name.

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Oh thank you! I've been wondering about that. Shooty is nice and easy to remember.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Well, that should make my fellow Americans love him just fine, then. /s

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

What

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I love him in Sex Education!!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I don't care who plays him, I just hope the atrocious writers have been changed. I'm sure the internet will not overreact on this one.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Russell T Davies is back

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are they planning on doing some actual writing this season. Couldn't finish last season

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Until they fix 'The Timeless Children' I don't care.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Honestly the best thing to do is just do what they did with the 8th doctors movie and just pretend it didn't happen.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yep, they turned a character famous for being a no body at their core to being a chosen one. Such lazy and misguided writing.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Cool, but I'm just excited Chinball is leaving. Yes, I intentionally misspelled his name.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Looks like a doctor, Who is he.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Tiny octopus notes that the Doctor still isn't a ginger.

4 years ago | Likes 808 Dislikes 51

Watch him dye his hair orange for the role...

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We don't know that yet, haven't seen him actually in the role. Could wear a wig!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Was gonna say the same thing! I bow to your superior speed and culture.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

He's gone platinum blond before. I say it'd be fun for the second black doctor to also be ginger.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is why TinyOctopus is ranked glorious

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

Ugh! Don't ruin the show with that BS

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

You aren't aware of the running joke? Tiny octopus is a little sad. Get a pair of trainers and go catch it then.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Hasn't been downvoted enough.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Can't be easy to find a black GINGER for the role

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

How hard can it be? https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Doctor_Ogron

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But he's dead :(

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The doctor will regenerate.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But a dead man cannot play the Doctor :(

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They had one in Falcon and the Winter Soldier

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

True! A good one at that

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The doctor has too much soul energy to be a ginger.

4 years ago | Likes 211 Dislikes 7

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The doctor has killed more people than anyone ever in the whole universe in all of time.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

There’s also a movie length special where he talks about this and how soulless he feels as a result. Let him be ginger.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Now that would be going TOO FAR

4 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 3

Oh I see, yall looooove RHM but a ginger playing Doctor Who? Ridiculous!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The only casting choice I can think of worse than Ed Sheeran as The Doctor is Mick Hudnall (shudder).

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Too forward-thinking.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Supposedly some other peep was saying there's some lore reason they'll never be ginger, can't confirm since I stopped in Matt Smith's run

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Everybody with integrity stopped in Matt Smith's run.

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 7

I stopped with Colin Baker.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't, but to this day he's still my most hated incarnation of the Doctor. Grade-A super asshole.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The absolute goddamn worst.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was bad, never checked out Capaldi's or Whittaker's run as a result of the writing already being rough that I couldn't finish Smith's

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The writing was amazing. The show running was the issue. All episodes are so dependant on each other you can't just watch 'an episode'.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Capaldi had some pretty good stories.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Capaldi had some great episodes but the writing never matched his skill. There was one episode where it was just him and it was great.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The one where he did the same thing over and over just to punch that thing so he could get to the TARDIS?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Can’t remember the end of smith, watched all of capaldi, can’t remember it at all, watched one of Whittaker, was very aware she was *acting*.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It was so bad I had to use a ball peen hammer to blow the memories of that entire show from my thinking meat. What's Doctor Who?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Tennent was the best Dr. but Smith had the best scene. I look forward to seeing how this guy does.

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Which scene?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All of them!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

https://youtu.be/ubTJI_UphPk

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I couldn't really get into that episode.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

PICKING A BEST SCENE?!?! Those be fighting words, it's going down, it's...? Oh right, that scene, fair enough.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Best scene in Dr Who. The entire series. Fight me. :P

The Doctor

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

What doctor?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Disrespect?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He played Eric in Sex Education.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's Dr. Who to you...

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Trumboner.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The Doctor

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You may know him by he other name “Not Richard Ayoade”

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

To be fair, that was a lot of people's reactions to Matt Smith's announcement. And David Tennant's.

4 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 4

The only one I’d seen in anything before their role as The Doctor was Jodie. So if they think this kid is good, I’m all for it.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

He's fantastic in Sex Education on Netflix. I highly recommend it... though maybe don't watch it with your folks.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This! The Doctor has been a jumping board got many careers.

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I've not seen him in anything other than sex education, but he was brilliant in that.

4 years ago | Likes 176 Dislikes 2

He was the best part!

4 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

I'm stoked for this

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

He hasn't really been in much other than that.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

English though, right? Dr Who needs to keep the accent lol

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 31

Bad news. He's Rwandan-Scottish

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

Scotland is UK, so keeps to the whole old scool police call box.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

David Tennant is also Scottish. As is Peter Capaldi. That didn’t seem to bother anybody.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Once again, for like the 5th time. Okay, I meant UK... not just London, England. And I meant accent as I said. Not skin color. Snowflakes..

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

What? How is that bad news? He's an actor. They can do accents. Unless they've announced that he'll use his natural Scottish one?

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

It's great news, but the comment I replied to looked like it was trying to say the Doctor should be English, aka White. I could be wrong tho

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like Sylvester McCoy and Peter Capaldi?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dunno, I think given the down votes people think I meant it as racist, meant it as lore friendly. Dr Who always preferred that accent

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ncuti Gatwa

4 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 4

gesundheit

4 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 10

What's the doctor they're speaking of

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

He's the Dr Who...

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

A who?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Who though

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Exactly.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, just the Doctor.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

He's a great actor but this is super out of left field. Didn't expect this at all. Interested to see how it plays out.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Apparently Capaldi injured himself on set and Whittaker had a lot of obligations that fussed with things. I can see why they want someone

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Young and relatively unknown

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is. Considering how all bets were hinged on nothing but women playing him from now on.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I figured they'd go back to the "charming space boyfriend who takes a viewer stand in to explore time and space" recipe as soon as possible.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tbh? I’m fine with that. I’d be fine with it with a woman or a gay doctor. It’s VERY obvious the Doctor is pansexual. I just don’t need him

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

porking anyone. 9-10/Rose was all the love story I needed. I prefer the unrequited love that turns into a deep non romantic love.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Bill and 13 worked great.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The bigger question is who is going to be doing the writing? I was perfectly happy with a female Doctor, but the writing of her episodes >

4 years ago | Likes 429 Dislikes 4

I felt like they tried to let her gender do too much of the work. I don't care about the Doctors gender or skin color, but I will be sad if/

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

this is the reason they stop the relationship with Yasmin from developing.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Although I don't see a wife for the doctor other than River actually working out so maybe it's fir the best

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

WE GOT THE MOTHERFUCKIN RTD BACK LADIES AND GENTS

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Russel T Davies. So hopefully they retcon 90% of the shit from Jodie’s seasons. And just bring back 12 long enough to say Jodie/That other

4 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 3

Nope just gonna continue down the road of nobody watches anymore so destroy everything

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

rando never happened cause G-d all of her run was trash. I especially want all of Chris’ retconned cause he was whinging about how someone

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 5

was going to retcon his run.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

You mean Eccleston? Dude was great, but he got hazed out. I'm torn between him and Tennant as the best doctor

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

See, 10 & 4 for me for top. 2/9 for 2nd. 3/1/11 for 3rd. I watched the OGs too.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Russell T Davies (who wrote for Ecclestone and Tenant) is coming back as show-runner.

Thank god

4 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 0

This was my golden age for this series.

4 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 2

That still leaves the key questions of who will make up his writing staff, how involved he'll be in each episode, and the tone they'll seek.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Probably as always a mixture of writers. Some proven, some new, with occasional Neil Gaiman episodes if they can do it. :)

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

(please be true)

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

It is.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

YAS!

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Oh now I shudder in antici

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

PRAISE THE FUCKING LORD! Ecclestone Doctor was my favorite

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

FanTASTIC!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fucking fantastic! The recent writing has been so awful I stopped watching.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank fuck for that.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh yay

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh shit man

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

rip good seasons though. Doctor Who needs a good writer / showrunner

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

You’re saying he’s not? Chibnall was horrible as showrunner. Davies literally brought doctor who from the dead in 2005

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

As much as I love Ecclestein/Tennant though, RTD had some ROUGH bits back then as well. Fart jokes, reality TV, 'Love and Monsters', etc.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

At least those were purposely stupid and not just stupid

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But it's been 12 years since then, so, who knows, maybe he's matured a bit as a writer. We shall see!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I mean that was common at the time DW is aimed at kids and young teens. Adults are a bonus

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

moffat is a good writter, horrible fucking show runner.

4 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 3

Soon as I saw “Written by Moffat” on the intro I knew I had to strap on my emotional seatbelt.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Full agreement. He needs someone to manage him or he'll just make meandering overarching plots of "that seems neato".

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

< was so awful (IMHO), it turned me right off the show.

4 years ago | Likes 249 Dislikes 2

1000000% this!!! They could have been do good but the writing was AWFUL...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Truth!!

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Amen the writing was trash, I was so disappointed

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Agreed put the series down harder than a drunk walrus on Tuesday because of the writing

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Same. I didn't get far into it. It was written like a parody of a show written by someone who'd never seen a single episode.

4 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Like the (NOT) Amazon episode where they end up planning on more human workers... Terrorism works was the lesson I got from that.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Also watching the doctor fangirling over a corporation that hurt and exploited people was jarring as fuck

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

At the end of the day, the writers clearly didn't "get" the character of The Doctor.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did they switch up writers during at all? I thought they had done that with past doctors where people would write one or two episodes

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Chibnall wrote throughout, but the best episodes in Whittaker's run were all co-written with someone else

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I gave up around Moffatt came in. Smith's first episode told me everything I had to know, he scared off the monster by showing them repeats>

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

of Dr Who! I mean.. Truth be told though, it took me 2.5 seasons to warm to Tennant, I loved Ecclestone so much. And I watched sporadically.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She did very well with shit writers.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This exactly. I thought she did a good job conveying the doctor's quirkyness but the writing was so shit.

4 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 1

Unpopular opinion -- The Master is the Child of Time, not The Doctor. This can be demonstrated with episodes as evidence.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I mean, they’ve pretty much said that when good writers were still on in RTD and Moffat.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah but the bad writers straight up contradicted that, with multiple characters in agreement

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven't watched much of the new ones but from the few I saw the cinematography was wacky. Lots of close-ups. Felt claustrophobic.

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Well with Davies back and Bad Wolf producing I think we're in for a treat

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I hope he retcons almost all of Chris’. I watched like an 8 hour video from someone about everything wrong(and some good) with Chris.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Tbh, she was the worst of them all. Including everyone after the 5th doctor. I wish they had cast Liz 10. River already stated that you can

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Focus hard enough to look how you want when you regen - so he could have just been thinking of Liz 10 as a memory & bam he regenerated as

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Liz 10. She’s a better actress. But tbh, chris’ writing is such shit that even Oscar award winning actors couldn’t have saved that shit.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

v

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

That's Ncuti Gatwa.. the actor who's playing the new Doctor

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

E.R is coming back?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

E.R. ?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

On what show? Sorry, I have no idea what this is in reference to.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does not matter who plays The doctor, if the writers suck it will suffer and fail. An actor can only carry a show by themselves so much.

4 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 2

Capaldi pretty much held up the show through some crappy writing.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

RTD is back in the showrunner's seat, so there's at least some hope on that front.

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

You're god-damned right. And we'll get some good companion arcs to go with it. Gillian Anderson for The Master? Anyone?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I say throw a curve ball: Jodie Whitaker for the master. Just let her run with it.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That could be cool. The 10th doctor regenerated into himself (not Matt) so anything is possible.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't rate him very highly. I felt his stories emphasized fairy tale logic and soap opera emotional drama over the sci-fi horror I...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

....enjoyed in Pertwee/Tom Baker years.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He was rather hit-or-miss for me. But at least he never completely crawled up his own ass like Moffat, or huffed as much glue as Chibnall.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

(well, other than the 20 minute mope-fest that was Tennant's send-off. That was a wee bit... much)

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Depend if there will be enough budget and if there's no studio interference. Both of those can prevent a good writer being good.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's being produced by Davies own production company that is a subsidiary of Sony so hopefully both of those are solved

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hopefully Dr.Who has always been short changed on it's budget compared to how much it earns.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can they repair the botched origin story though?

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

All it takes is a retcon. Bring back Peter for 10m, completely redo the regen & say Jodie was a fevered dream after he ate a funny whelk.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

I mean, the Child of Time story may not have been great, it does have a useful function, it prevents soke of the drama Smith had at his end

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

With the running out of extra lives

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I skipped Jodie's season, someone explain, plz?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Doctor was a girl all along and time lords are all based on her DNA now...

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Because Chibnall could not shit himself out of a paper bag.

Understood. I will stick with Tennant.

The Master is the Child of Time, not The Doctor. Prove me wrong.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

No that would ruin the Master, it's some as of yet unknown Time Lord who will never be used again and quickly forgotten.

Tbh, not really. They’ve been vaguely hinting at it since John Simm.

Oh, like Romana?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They literally set up the Doctor’s Daughter. Idk why they had to make him female. They could have had two huge shows.

She's too busy being Tennant's wife and mother to his children to engage in a regular live-action show, but I agree, Georga is cute as hell.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean they seem to have no issue with making brand new Time Lords so they could pick anyone functionally.

I always look forward to seeing how new doctor's play out. Not too sure how I feel about Russel t Davies coming back though.

Dr who was trash after Capaldi, I look forward to anything that might make it good again.

Considering what we got after he left, I'm welcoming him back with open arms

Better than Chibnall

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

I’d rather be waterboarded with corpse water than watch anything Chibnall did. I watched 2 videos that encapsulated what made her run such

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

shit. One was 1hr23m and the other was 5hr14m. The videos are better done than the entire Jodie run.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Which is sad because I really liked Jodies version of the Doctor but the story lines she got were terrible, characters were ok, not the plot

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Tbh, I don’t like her and haven’t since Broadchurch, so I was sort of biased. And then I saw her and was like “this could be used as torture

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I might start watching again, I stopped cause Moffat can't write his way out of a bag. Never finished Matt Smith's run, cause of it

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Moffat just sucks at ending. He can set up a interesting story but never knows how to finish them.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You think Moffat is bad wait till you watch Chibnalls trash

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If it got worse than Moffat I just feel bad for whomever Doctor's run that was

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That was Jodie sadly

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

just a lottery pick if you get a good writer as the Doctor it seems

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The show did decline after he left. Moffatt was too family friendly and it got fo a Pont where there stopped being danger in his stories.

4 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 2

He literally made his fan-fictions cannon. People have found Moffatt's old story's online and quite a lot of it made it into the show.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Some of Moffatt’s were the most popular ever. Hell, 1/2 my favorite episodes were his. And he was a writer during RTD & those were some I

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

loved too. I loved the Beast Below, Vincent, Girl in the Fireplace, and countless others. To be honest Russell to Davies and Steven Moffat

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Make one hell of a writing team. Most of the best stories were written by Moffat or Davies with one or the other as co-writer.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Mostly I’ll never forgive Moffat for ruining the weeping angels. Leave some mystery, guy.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Moffat was clearly too proud of how clever he was. The spaceman/death of the doctor stuff was laboured to fuck.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Moffatt's biggest issue is he sucks at endings. He is great at set ups but almost always fumbles the end.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I agree, sometimes. The 3 I mentioned were fantastic one-offs. I prefer maybe one 2 parter a season. He just needs someone to reign him in.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Moffat is good when you limit him to a single story with 42 minutes to tell it in. His multi-season long mysteries were the worst

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Even for his stand alone's his endings are not his strong suit and it's often where the quality drops the most.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Moffat was best when someone reigned him in. I really got sick of the multiple 2 parters. I don’t mind if there’s a season arc with tiny
