To expand, basically anything can knock up a Ditto (it transforms into other Pokemon), and the common breeding method for good Pokemon 1/2

It's because in-game, it can breed with almost anything, but when breeding for Hidden Abilities it takes the male spot in the pair

No, ditto is always the dad. In a normal breeding pair, the female pokemon decides the species of the egg.

Since a pair with a ditto always gives the other pokemon, ditto can't be considered the mother.

Mother isn't defined as "the one who determines the species". Pokemon have sexes. You can breed a male Eevee with a ditto, ditto is the mom

Not true, depends on species... A lot of people actually use it as male more because passing down hidden ability has higher chance that way.
