...55 years ago into Mount Kearsage in Warner, NH. We hiked it today to spread my grandmother's ashes at the site per one of her request.

I used a shitty tracking app (meant for skiing) but you can see the arrows painted on the rocks and my general walkabout. Since the wreckage was left up there, that was to tell other pilots it was a known crash site so it wouldn't get reported on in the future.

We spread my grandmother's ashes and they are finally back together. Memorialized it too.

It was a sad day but a beautiful day all the same.

FP Edit, snap! Ummm, happy things.

Also, they believe it was the weather and a possible lack of experience on the behalf of the pilot. it happened in January. A fire was spotted on the mountain by locals. It took them 3 days to get to the crash site and several more to bring the bodies down. My grandfather (biological) was a professor on a small plane on his was to Canada to testify in a trial as an expert witness. The pilot simply flew too low and struck the mountain about 10 feet from the summit.

Thank you for the kind words all!

Way to ruin a nice sentimental post with a thirsty nudes request.

I don't mean to be insensitive but i thought that red line on the map was the planes and was like "he was all over the place"

Interesting fact about the white arrows

Wait so he died in 1962 and she died in 2017?

She remarried a number of years later. That is why I said her first love. Her second was the man I consider my grandfather.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's beautiful that you did this them so they can be together again

My question as well. She spent 55 years missing him?

I don't mean to sound insensitive, but scattering ashes at the site of her husbands horrific accident is hardly going to give eternal peace.

Did he have a pilots licence?

Yes.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not your call.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was what she asked for. Who am I to judge...

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Maybe he was waiting there for her so they could Rest In Peace together.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

or in his case, rest in pieces

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

You are not horrid. I am sure @op chuckled a little.

I did chuckle. No worries :)

If you feel that bad you can always delete it.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can you give us any details on what caused the crash?

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Most likely the plane stopped being airborne...

On the night of January 24, 1962, a twin-engine Piper Apache aircraft crashed into the snow covered top of Mount Kearsarge, within the 1/2

town of Warner, New Hampshire. All three men aboard were killed. (Goog search will show names) Can't find cause listed at the time

It is believed it was the weather and a possible lack of experience on the behalf of the pilot. It happened during January in NH. (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

They were about 10 feet shy of clearing the mountain and after the fire was reported, it took rescuers 3 days to get to them. (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Kinda sounds like it was controlled flight into terrain

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or iced up....

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cool story. May they now find peace together.

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Only the living experience peace, but I understand why it would be comforting to believe that.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 18

No proof for it or against it so let it be... no need to inject that thought here really is there?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

True, while i believe in no greater being/deity or life after death, i dont give a shit abt what other people believe.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Just sick and tired of hearing it for 38 years. Church used my best friends suicide as an opportunity to try and convert me, left bad taste

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Used to be religious until the priest drugged and raped my cousin.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok well there is no need to be a dick about it here just cause you don't believe it. It's like when people get mad about someone saying 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Bless you" after they sneeze. Just let it go. 2/2
