I know it's early, but you can stash this away for the coming Autumn
12 small cider mill donuts
6 Tablespoons butter, melted
2 teaspoons fall spices*
1 medium, sweet apple, diced
6 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups milk
Caramel sauce
*Cinnamon is the main component here. You can use 2 teaspoons of Pumpkin Pie Spice, Apple Pie Spice, Fall Spice, or however its marketed in your area. Alternately, you can use 1 teaspoon of Cinnamon, combined with 1/2 teaspoon Allspice, 1/4 teaspoon Mace, and 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg. If you don't have a particular spice, leave it out, it'll be fine, but we need the Cinnamon.
1. Preheat the oven to 375F (190C). Lightly butter one 9×13 baking dish.
2. Slice donuts like a bagel, then into thirds. Combine with butter, spices, and apple. Place in baking dish.
3. Heat milk to 160F (71C). Hot, but not boiling.
4. Beat together eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Slowly drizzle in milk, stirring constantly. Pour mixture over donut bits, making sure all bits get moist.
5. Bake for 30 minutes.
6. Serve warm, drizzled with caramel sauce.

Looks amazing OP. I'll be sure to make this when I see my Michigan family later this year.

I don't know what Cidre Mill Donuts are, but I'm going to guess this would work equally lovely with some brioche broken into pieces.

In areas that grow apples in the US, you can find Apple Cider mills. They usually have a small, cakey donut available for purchase alongside the apple cider.

I live where they grow lots of apples in the US. Never heard of these donuts.

Look for a place that does "soft" cider?
SoundBites
I just looked it up, apparently some of the orchards around here do them. They aren't a place I frequent. And, they're not a colloquially talked about item in these parts.
