Seriously they show up on everything, usually have zero post history, only exist to be controversial and negative/derogatory. doesn't matter if the subject is political or not, but it sure has gotten worse since you know who came back in power.

It really sucks, and it's not (just) bots unfortunately. Ever since imgur started advertising it's presence on FB is when I noticed the decline steepen. Like some of us are playful shitty, but the goal is never to be a straight up dick unless it's deserved, ya know?

I'm surprised the downvote weenies haven't hit this post yet. I've seen that a few times in the last two days. Not only does an innocuous post get downvoted, every comment on the post goes to zero. It's odd.

I really think there's an effort to destabilize online communities to prevent the kinds of community building that allowed things like the arab spring to happen, across the entire internet. It's like someone heard the dead internet theory and figured that was safer and is trying to make it a reality

Better experience /gallery/saj5qu3 if you BLOCK them. I've already Maxed mine to 1K blocked accounts. If you've been around AOL you could tell troll bot accounts. So far, the Ai comments are obvious there to trigger a response.

My theory is that we've reached the point that it's impossible to ignore the need for action so people who are exclusively performative in their politics are just going as aggro possible to distract themselves from the unmistakable reality that they are part of the problem.

I'm surprised Imgur don't prevent new accounts from interacting right away. Even web forums do that.

The MAGA bigots were running out of old stolen accounts to troll with. Used to be they'd get purged, but some now tend to do a lot to get removed. I should collect another folder of bigotry posts I see and later check how many stay up.

Feels like there are more and I'm seeing the same kind of thing on Reddit. Except with reddit there seem to be more and more locked posts, collapsed comments etc. Magats aren't satisfied with twitter, facebook, ig, so I guess now they gotta come after reddit, imgur and prob bluesky, lemmy ect..
