This is a Carolina wren. Sometimes you can find these guys by listening for the sounds of leaves being shuffled. You can also find thrushes and lizards that way.

A female painted bunting. The males are much flashier.

Probably her mate. Flew up into a tree before I could film him. She's actually in this photo- look one bunting-length from the right side of the photo, about two buntings up from the bottom. She's there! She's just very well camouflaged. You can see her body and the shape and color of her wing.

This is the little blighter going "! ! ! ! !" in the background. Millennials- they don't want to forage, they just want to have free food shoved down their throats.
