I was bussing tables in a restaurant when a young girl, maybe 3 or 4, came tearing around a corner and nearly ran into me. Her dad was right behind her and grabbed her shoulder, apologized to me, then told the girl to "say you're sorry, and watch where you're going next time." Sure enough, the girl looked me dead in the eyes and said, 'I'm sorry, watch where you're going next time."

Finally, a dub of a comic that was designed to be read in complete silence.
HairyChairstepper
Was it, though? You're commenting on the artist's post lol. I guess they could decide how it was designed.
ElbowDeepInAGoblin
Comics are a voiceless medium. They are all designed to be silent, yes. But also, @jbnrmd18, some obvious stuff you missed with your weak argument: This dubbing is a conceptual demo for a full, voiced animation. It is a different thing designed with a different purpose. ...Which, again, is super obvious. Also, you've never read any comic ever in "complete" silence anyway. Ambient noise is everywhere.
TonyDiethelm
Oh, he commented. I guess everything he said doesn't count now? That's stupid. Why say something stupid?
They can have opinions. They can voice opinions. So can I... This is dumb. This is annoying. Dubbing over this makes it WORSE.
PineappleLoopsBroether
You’re speaking very angrily about someone reading a comic with voices. You can just keep it muted. Yeah, I saw what the other person said and maybe that’s incorrect, but bro. You just brought a very shit vibe to one of very few pleasant moments I have in a day. Could you please direct your temper somewhere else? I’m at a constant boil of disappointment disgust and smoldering violent anger every day because of all the reasons, but this post is a cute comic with some voices on it. Stop it.
Something1Said
If you're at a constant boil, maybe you're just witnessing them momentarily boiling over for similar reasons.
PineappleLoopsBroether
I try to pour my hot water on the actual subjects that piss me off, and there’s PLENTY of news posts on here

This isn't better. I can just... read.
This is annoying. Now I'm waiting for the text to show up, and it's annoying.

Polite criticism is verboten.
LitterboxComics
I mean, you could still read the original comic? These dubs were a stretch goal from the Kickstarter. They're all from previously released comics... not sure the rage is justified? 😅
strawberrycocoa
Do you have less patience than a kindergartener or something?
SideBoobsWillGetYouBanned
I know I do. But that might be the cocain speaking
ElbowDeepInAGoblin
You know what's annoying? Making up stuff nobody said to argue against. Nobody claimed that it's "better". This is a vocal demo for a show in the works. Want to just read the comic? Go read the comic. Nobody is stopping you.
Something1Said
They are telling you that the result of the demo is annoying. When you post publicly, people will comment on how they feel about it. Is that not the point of posting this demo? If the show is in the works, is now not a good time for criticism?
strawberrycocoa
This isn’t a demo of the show though, just a fun clip showing off the VAs.
Something1Said
They're the one who called it a demo first, and that the resulting post is annoying is valuable feedback. Would you rather I lie? Would they?
strawberrycocoa
I love when people choose to be disingenuous and pretend not to understand simple things just to avoid admitting they were wrong.
Tony clearly said the delays on the text were annoying. Elbow clearly called it a vocal demo. At no point did either of them claim the post to be reflective of the final product of the show. You misunderstood the conversation, and now you’re making up things no one said because you don’t want to admit that.
Quit being fake. You’re better than this.
ElbowDeepInAGoblin
What they actually told us is "This isn't better." (which nobody even said it was), 'It's annoying to wait for the text.' (which they chose to do then complain about rather than go read the comic) and 'I can't comprehend obvious design differences!' (paraphrased)... "If the show is in the works, is now not a good time for criticism?" - No because the show isn't going to be text delayed over a comic strip. Their criticism (about demo timing, not voicework) isn't relevant to it.
Something1Said
Their criticism is relevant to the product we're literally witnessing now, though. This is a product, and its presumably being shown to us for some reason (hype, feedback, etc) and the result is annoying. If I were them, I'd prefer to know that my marketing material is annoying, because I wouldn't want it to be annoying.
ElbowDeepInAGoblin
"Their criticism is relevant to the product we're literally witnessing now, though." You asked about criticism in relation to the future show which this is not. Keep up. Also, you weren't literally witnessing it (nor was I) while you typed that so 'We're literally witnessing now.' was a weird lie. And again, it is showcasing voicework. The only relevant criticism, again, would be about the voicework. They could close their eyes and listen. They could click away. They chose to be annoyed.
