Haven't had facebook in years. Briefly had it in an attempt to maintain social connections, found that didn't work for shit, so I removed the account again. Might eventually make a not-quite-personal instagram account because it apparently works wonders for creatives with a patreon or similar, but that would be the only reason.

Advertising isn't taxed for companies that spend money to advertise with others. Ad agencies aren't tax free, it's just that your business buying an ad somewhere is a business expense. Companies that sell ads are taxed on their profit as all businesses are only taxed on their profit.

If you sell something, the other person pays the immediate tax on the sale. If the revenue you make amounts to a profit for you at the end of the year, then it's income and you pay tax. If you buy things for more than you sell them for, you take a loss and pay no tax. This is the same process for companies, it's just that most people don't sell things outside of business, so it doesn't usually factor.

I get what you are saying it's just all it takes is a bit of creative book keeping to make a profitable object a loss for the sake of write offs or lack of pay outs.

Hollywood book keeping is an entirely different topic. It's a fraudulent method to generate false costs to prevent showing profit share, not taxes. You're asking to ban legitimate costs, which would destroy most every business in the world. Tax is paid on the final product for sales and final profit for income. It's simple & straightforward, and the structure applies to people and businesses, for good reason.

Just deleted Facebook. I had to follow a CNET forum to be able to navigate through the process. Jeez. I subscribed to all the people and content I like on YouTube instead. I have an insta but I haven’t ever made it a habit to look at it.

i like to explore the various LLM products. the meta llama one is by far the worst when it comes to pushing an agenda. a scary agenda at some points. chat gpt might be the best but the truth is none of them are any good. they will all lie to you at the drop of a hat. The only goal is your harvestable marketable data.

Pro tip about Meta: when you delete your account (and you should delete your account) if you just delete it, it goes into a form of storage. All your posts, all your pics and video are still there and only Mark Zuckerberg’s word keeps them from being accessed or fed to an AI.
It’s way more work, but delete your media and posts BEFORE you delete your Meta accounts.

pro tip : change your name to something outrageous , step 2 some one will report it and facebook will ask for you id to confirm its your real name, step 3 send them what ever you want (i sent feet pics ) you will promptly be banned and all you data is gone ! problem solved

Untrue... if u delete (user action) your info (media) BEFORE u delete account, then at very least, if your info (media) Is ever used after that fact(IE you deleted it) you can take real legal action against those who would use it and whomever 'allowed access to it' AND whomever decided to SAVE this info. At the very least, you protect yourself. The 'It's no use' bs weak loser response is how these companies grab you by the gonads and don't let go, show some backbone.
