Spain in my ass. As much as I'm not rooting for Argentina. Go Argentina.

In my view, if the teams sulk and don't feel like playing properly, just don't hand out medals. They're adults, presumably very competitive ones. Go and try to win.

England has the tactical advantage of its longbows

1 week ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

What a roller coaster of a game it ended up being, though.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

isn't there money for 3rd place still?

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

By tradition the English donate their winnings to charities in the host nation.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This kind of thought is depressing...

1 week ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

England was the first country to refer to it as "soccer".

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are the minions cold blooded? Or just depressed

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the narrative England want to uphold, just so it doesn't hurt that they only have one medal i WC history. Croatia has three times as many medals, in only 28 years....

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

Yes, downvote, it proves me right

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 7

No it doesn't and I bet Croatia would trade in all their medals for one gold.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I bet England would trade their gold for a deserved gold medal, instead of winning by a goal where the ball didn't cross the line. I bet England would trade there 2 fourth placements for a bronze. I bet Kane would trade from being himself to being someone who scores beautiful goals.

The "Wembley goal" was a wrong decision, though this only came to light through later analysis. However, a decision was a decision. Back then, there were no video assistant referees or goal-line technology. Yet even with all that technology, wrong decisions still occur, as the current World Cup demonstrates.

Therefor the asterisk next to the 1966 "gold winner" England in the history books

Game of the year! I m French and not even sad it was amazing to watch

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah really was GOTY, even during this thrilling world cup. Its a shame tomorrows match wont be as entertaining, today really was amazing (and to see it played in the stadium i grew up next to!)

I give the french that, they played well and put on one hell of a show, the opening of the second half was nuts.

Oh and obligatory fouge

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

On one hand the French have speed and strength in their favor. On the other h hand, the English have longbowmen with greater reach and ability to inflict damage at range.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok I need someone to explain lol what’s going on?

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The two losing teams from the semi-finals have to play today to determine who comes in 3rd. Neither team cares, fans don't care. Nobody cares.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ah! Thank you.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a French, the match is airing at 11pm, f that, I will be asleep in bed.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The only thing worse i think is silver, bronze means you at least didnt go home empty handed, silver just means you were not good enough to win

1 week ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 19

I agree, or at least ones initial reaction is loosing a gold but winning a bronze, at least in competitions like this where there’s a game for 3rd place and a final for gold and silver (I mean that it might not be true for eg. a skier or runner who comes in second - many prob feel like winning a silver there depending on how close it was).
But, once the initial feelings have calmed down I think both the team and the country will celebrate a silver :)

All or nothing thinking.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dunno why people downvote you for this. It's common knowledge. You end it with a victory instead of the disappointment of not winning it all. You're already over having lost the shot at 1. or second place.

1 week ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

Yea the smirking girl ended up in the whitehous with Obama

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of people would be happy with 2nd.

"Second is just the first place loser!" Dale Earnhardt

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

That is bullshit!
People that believe that will, in my opinion, never truly understand sport.

I have lost games that I am more proud of than others that I won.
My best buddies played in the teams of the other villages we had the best games against (!) each other good games regardless of who won.

Upvote for you. Silver is often “very nice but darn, I just missed getting gold” while bronze is “yay, I got something!”

This is how England always play

1 week ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 9

Nope, too far from their goal.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well, apologies, I guess...

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Their goalie put in some work tho

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How they just sat back and let Argentina attack relentlessly is beyond me, other than yeah that's just how they play.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Rigged by FIFA apparently 😂

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hate to use to word cringe in football, but that was so fucking cringe.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The problem with Arsenal is they're always walking it in

True. see you later, Moss.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah you get it. One of the most boring teams in the tournament

1 week ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Too little diving and being *mortally* wounded when the other team looks at them wrong

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Too little quality players and skill

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I hope Spain is ready to get robbed.

1 week ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 9

By the more enjoyable team. The team that doesn't stop playing

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 41

Did Argentina ever start playing?

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

After England's goal to Argentina's second goal England had a ball possession of 15%. England was really really bad.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Argentina spent the first half of the semi kicking brits more than the ball. By the time they finally start getting yellows late game, some players should be on their second or third

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Argentina played the shit out of England in the end of the game. Argentina was much better than England. The English always cry when they lose

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Best case scenario: the team doesn't know, but somewhere money is changing pockets.

1 week ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

How the hell have this been rigged do you mean? How have the games been setup so Argentina win by scoring perfectly good goals? Why have they been close to losing if it's rigged but saved by perfectly good goals? These conspiracy theories are so fucking dumb. We get it, you don't want Argentina to win. But don't cry like a child or moron when they do

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 15

I thought he meant the $300 million of suspicious funds linked to the Argentine Football Association, currently under investigation for money laundering and bank fraud. The association is also under investigation by the Argentinian government for Tax Evasion and misuse of social security contributions.

Morocco - Argentina ref was deaf, blind and mute for the former in favor of the latter. I never got the popularity for Messi, but now I get it: he is shit.

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You never understood why people liked the best player in history? Ok. Says a lot about your brain

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 10

It's more so the issue that they avoid calling fouls against Messi. It's like not calling Travelling against Shaq or any of the big basketball stars.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's how it gets when you are the best in history. And Argentina is the most scoring team in the tournament. A worthy finalist, unlike for example bus parking England
