Let's just redistribute all the points the spambots have accumulated.
The 0.1% who own the spambots will arrange for the media to start a huge anti-redistribution hysteria immediately.

Yeah, the difference is that socalism was meant to be democratic, now people have to add democratic. Still the same thing though

It's amusing that people put down socialism... except for public schools, EMS, police, accept medicare.. a wee bit hypocritical
StarrrryNight
And the US Military. The single largest socialist program on earth, ever.
The knee jerk cons are not willing to accept the term "socialist" as anything good. They've been Pavlovian trained to associate it with bad.
That's not socialism. And I'd like less government involvement in all those areas
If they aren't then we hick towns teaching old testament elementary school in public schools & poorly regulated EMS. Neither are acceptable
It's weird how the term socialism has grown to be fundamentally misunderstood as involving literally anything the government does.
maybe not so much as short lived but the monopolies that we saw last century that stifles an economy
You mean that century where standards of living rose faster than at any other point in human history.... THAT century? O.o
LOL. slightly before that :-) Before unions held conglomerates to giving workers a living wage.
Not pure socialism but we're no where near a pure capitalist society either. Pure in either is short lived.
There is no such thing as pure capitalism/socialism. Socialism ≠ welfare, Free uni, social services.

Sweden has no inheritance tax and is in the middle of privatizing parts of it's healthcare and telephone systems. Socialism almost killed it

http://reason.com/blog/2012/06/08/sweden-not-a-socialist-standard-bearer-a written by a Swede. Late 20th century socialism was a fail.
Oh so you are talking about actual socialism and not what most Americans think that socialism is(which is actually social democracy)
ionlycommentwithgifsandpics
Sweden is a social democracy
tell me simething I don't know
Trust me, i live there.
Can't wait to see how that works out for the average Swede ... oh wait. Probably as badly as it has every time other 1%ers did it.
Bernie Sanders is getting millions of votes across the country because capitalism is killing the majority of the USAs citizens.
ImgurMontoya
Bernie Sanders is losing because a majority of Americans know that Socialism does not work. Capitalism is the foundation of the modern world
Then the majority of Americans are ignorant. Socialism is the foundation of the modern world.
Socialism is a failed experiment. Look at how the application of stringent socialist and collectivist policies have wrecked many countries
Capitalism is a failed experiment. 62 people having the same wealth as over 3 billion people is a failure. It's wrecked many countries.

Sweden is comparable with the US in terms of GDP per capita, it is not suffering due to economic policies. Norway is even better, so.
Actually, yeah it is if you read the economic analysis of what they're doing now, also, look up yearly gdp as a percentage of yearly deficit
There a very big and scary difference there son.
I must have missed something, those figures suggest both Sweden and Norway are in very strong short/longterm economic positions.
Yes that's correct. Because of various economic reasons. Look at the USA and imagine us EXPANDING our social programs while in the situation
Sweden's deficit proportion to gdp -0.8 in 2015, Norway 10 (surplus), US -4.6. Net government debt/gdp: Sweden -17, Norway -165%, US 87%.

Norway has oil and the profits benefit the whole country through investments and pension funds.
Yep, and a fitting way of using the proceeds.
What? Are you saying buying a dozen gold plated Boeing 747s for private use à la gulf state princes is not good use and benefit the people?
They're also the rape capital of the Western world
I guess people downvoting this are fact-averse.
Iskneekwordsintomyname
Swedens definition of rape is way broader than most other countries though
Their definition is "forced sexual intercourse initiated against a woman by one or several men without her consent". That doesn't seem broad
So you mean you can't rape a man in Sweden then? Apart from that, "sexual intercourse" is pretty broad.

With the rise of automation capitalism cannot possibly function. Within the next 20 years 70 million jobs will be lost in transport jobs.
Sawsomebullshit
I've seen automation devices that people wouldn't believe. Over the next 20 there won't be many industries untouched. Ideas need to change.
Exactly. Coffee is better made with a machine than a person, transport is safer and easier, Fast food is quicker and overall nicer etc etc
IronicUsername
Isn't that a cruel twist? You'd think life would improve as we move closer to post-scarcity.
ArmorcladCowboy
Post-scarcity is a sci-fi pipe dream. Demand will always expand to exceed a limiting factor. Only which factor changes.
Not really. Life is improving as eventually no one will be working which is the ultimate goal.
tisphated
And jobs will be created elsewhere. It's what capitalism does. Always has. Creative destruction.
Enough net losses and eventually we don't have people working. That is the goal of automation
You're a fool if you honestly think automation has ever resulted in a net gain of jobs. The whole point is it always results in a net loss
Give me one example. Because I've got the spinning jenny, car manufacture automation, back office automation.
Lets take retail in UK shops. When self service took over in Tesco Expresses they only had to hire 1 person to do the job of 5.
It results in a net loss to the one automating. It results in gains elsewhere in the economy. Always has. Frees people up for useful work.
You cannot create 70 million jobs from this. At most we're projecting 60,000 jobs created in Europe.
and as everyone knows more minds working on software != more productivity. There are only a limited amount of jobs you can have there
Just like the millions of jobs that were lost and never replaced by the industrial revolution, right?

2 the innovations that it has created itself doesn't really make sense to me.
