If you're facilitating income you'll make less than if you're generating income. That's a bit of a rule of thumb anyway.

The problem is that a lot of the "essential" jobs are low skill, so there is more competition for them, so wages stay low.

Where did I say that? Where I live the living wage is the minimum wage, everyone deserves at least that.

Nowhere in America is a "living wage" 7.50 an hour, the state with the cheapest cost of living is MS, and a living wage is 48537, or ~$25/h
