Heh, my mom was good with computers. Getting an Apple II early on, and then teaching computers to middle schoolers. She's 88 now and still texts with us kids. I will say though, that when she was teaching, it wasn't unusual for her to call and say "What's an array?" And I'd always asked "Are you teaching this tomorrow?" "Yes." And I'd explain it.

My mom is an absolute nightmare of an abusive narcissist. She spends every waking moment on her phone, and gets her bank account emptied by scammers every other month. I've done nothing to prevent this.

Ive never thought of my mother as a narcissist, but very much the same with falling for scams. She also now says my sister's are demons and I'm the good one. This is confusing to my because I'm more against her than for her with all the garbage she put me though as well.

I got lucky, my mom repaired apple computers in the early 80s. Always had a computer around.

Both my parents were pretty tech savvy. The last few years of his life dad spent almost all of it online because he was physically unable to do much and mom was on her phone and laptop constantly until the end. I bought them their first computer in 1996 and got them a new one every few years after that. Had to put in some safeguards in their last years after dad got slightly scammed a couple of times and mom spent way too much on Wish/Amazon/Etsy/Temu. Other than that it was great.
