Finally have a decent system in my wood-paneled case
Epyc 3251 SoC (8c16t) w/ 128GB DDR4 replacing a dual Opteron 6378 (32c32t) w/ 256GB DDR3. Not really losing any performance, and the old system idled at the new system's max power draw.
I think King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard just released an album about this.

The mobo/cpu combo was open-box Newegg for $540 (new $720), the RAM is a Nemix kit for $590. Other parts I had lying around.
