this is really how lightsabers should move. although i do love the weight behind vaders strikes, the blade end should be practically weightless.

If I remember correctly the reason in the universe for a lot of the outlandish movement is compensation for the gyroscopic movement in the blade causing it to shift oddly. The dark saber takes this to extremes.

Yeah i thought i saw somewhere explaining that it might feel close to how it would feel if you had a free wheeling bicycle tire on a hilt. Its the gyroscopic precession that would make it feel heavy.

Actually one of the forms is specifically designed for lightsaber dueling, Form 2, Makashi. And it's very similar to this. Count Dooku uses the form, and it's why his saber has the bend to it (though this was due to Sir Lee requesting it to be that way due to his actual fencing knowledge). The other forms were designed for other purposes. Form two was seen less due to the lack of lightsaber dueling by the time the movies took place.

Form 1 was basic, based on classic swordsmanship, but wasn't well suited to lightsabers. Form 3 was focused on fighting against blasters, and is widely used. It allowed deflecting blaster fire in it's main purpose. Form 4 is more acrobatic and aggressive. Form 5 was demanding, but allowed transitions quickly from defense to offense, and could use reverse grip. Form 6 is the most popular, it incorporated many of the other forms into it as a jack of all type form, but also lacked the strengths 1/2

Form 7 was a favorite of the sith, very aggressive and unpredictable, but Mace Windu developed a variety of it that made him quite the powerhouse on the battlefield. Then there's Jar'Kai which is focused on dual wielding sabers.
Examples of users of each form would be, Kit Fisto was a master of Form 1. Dooku was a master of Form 2. Many jedi used Form 3 but Luminara Unduli was a notable master. Qui-gon Jinn was a master of Form 4, but Anakin Used it often as well. 2/3

Anakin was also a master of the forward grip style of Form 5, while Ahsoka favored the reverse grip style. Darth Maul was a Form 6 master. Mace Windu was a Master his varient of Form 7, and not many other jedi were able to use it. And Jar'Kai was of course mastered by Ahsoka, but was also used by Grevious, and Asajj Ventress.
