Lady was out for a walk in the dog park with her 2-3? Year old in a stroller. I asked if I could pet her dogs and she said yes. Releases them and they came for love at full speed.
I felt so bad! The dogs just love people so much, the 6 month old pup peed itself in her excitement.
The only path was through the stroller, and they choose the shortest path.
I went to help pick up the stroller, felt super bad, there wasn't even peep from the kid. He was just strapped into the stroller sideways watching his tablet.
"Are you ok buddy?" I asked and he lazily looked at me then back at the tablet
The mom was chill, thanks me for helping, I apologized again.
"Ya don't worry about him, he loves that show"
Kid got flipped in a stroller on a concrete sidewalk.
I understand kids are near invincible if you don't draw attention to it. But this cought be off guard.
sourcandy
My niece is the same with paw patrol so I get it. When they find something they like they get hyper focused when they're little.
darkhalfbreed
Maybe the kid is autistic and in his world view nothing bad happened
DOWNVOTEALLEMOJIS
Or maybe the kid is not autistic as that is a completely normal reaction.
jery007
I'm gonna say it. The world is interesting enough. They don't need a tablet while on a walk. Jesus, at three years old. Let your kid explore
CryptFist
Unless blood is coming out or a bone is broken the kid is fine
HtNrN
The power of the enslaved mind at work right there. Oh, you thought the kid? Sure, that, too, fellow addicted imgurian. :D

I can stop whenever I want!
Tyggna
Parent here: it's totally normal.
Tarmaccian
Halloween-loving evil bastard (and parent) here: very normal. Young kids don’t yet know what should be scary, so they just don’t care.
OriginalSyn
Toddlers, if you don't immediately react what just happened they are basically impervious to pain.
Neverdeadned22
Same, mine was watching cow videos and I said it's time for a shot and the nurse stuck him and it's one moment of wtf then back to watching

ohmygods
Totally normal

Probably not the first fall like that ....also strollers typically keep the stinkers belted in and safe-ish in a fall (mom of 2)

Let me tell you about me and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when I was a kid

ITS BEEN SO LONG! I NEED TO KNOW

Why are you not tell me!
SternoTesticularLigament
That... is normal. I limit my kid’s tablet/tv but when me and wife need a break, it is what it is

I may be a grinch but I hate it when strangers ask to interact with my dogs. Especially if I’m on the train with no escape. I would never >

I’m on the train with no escape. Some people have no boundaries. If my pup comes up to you that’s fine but that’s rare, people will just >

Bend down to pet her and that scares her, and even as she backs away some don’t get body language still try to pet her. Ugh rant over!
probablyobvious
All. Good man. Ranting is fine.

"pet her two lovely tubby labs"
AGoldenRetrieversTale
I just watched a dateline episode where a 4-year old boy witnessed his mom and dad’s murders. Shot in front of him..no reaction. Autistic.
DrKleiner007
Why is a 2-3 year old watching TV in a stroller??? Best training program to become a lazy fuc....

Got pregnant and went to an office to get Medicaid. Another pregnant woman next to me had her 3, possibly 4 year old with her. He was...1/3

throwing a tablet against the wall but when he saw me sit down in only available seat, he ran over and told me to get out of his seat... 2/3
paperzeppelin
The mother tells me I don't have to and he was just being rude. He glares at me then throws tablet against the wall again. With eye contact.
alexburgers
See, that is not normal. That's spoiled.
iamnotthewalrusanymore
That actually sounds like ODD. I work with 3 year olds like this and parents try but it isn't so simple.
iamnotthewalrusanymore
In my class, I have one kid who is 3. He throws chairs, bites, kicks when he does not get exactly what he wants. He's a twin.
TheAngriestBeardman
Children are made of rubber. They can take a beating and keep on going.
fishiefiasco
Yeah my kid is unfazed by the most ridiculous things, but will scream bloody murder for clipping his toenails. Kidsareweird
MisterSin
At least your heart is in the right place. Petting those two tubby labs is priority. No matter how many strollers they have to knock over.

The young on had cute little needle teef. Just nomming away. Responded really well to correction. The mom is a good trainer

pet the doggos no matter how many infants die! guess that's why pitbulls are still around.
graceinsheepsclothing
Read this as "tubby lads" and I think it works just as well
darkranger23
My 1 1/2 year old would have had a blast. Loves to rough house and fall over.
Sirsir94
I could watch kids fall down all day I don give a fuck about your kid.
skruttet
Yeah my toddler falls over on purpose because he thinks it's fun to fall? He'll make a great professional clown some day!

Something, something, could be the next president.

Nah cause he's not american.

That Texas sentor that ran last time was born in Canada. He's got a chance
skruttet
Are you serious tho? I'm literally not even from your continent and even I know to be POTUS you need to be born in the USA.
notacobra
Maybe I'm just getting old and becoming a Luddite, but giving a 2 year old a tablet so their beautiful world is paw patrol seems... Wrong.

Threw my cousin onto his bed, misjudged and he bounce/flipped right over. Hid my shock, he popped up on the other side, "DO IT AGAIN!!"
Ohmyolivia
I completely agree with you. Let the kid enjoy nature and observe it while out a walk. Talk to him, explain the things going on or see. @op

I would say your kid is going places, but he clearly has barriers. But I am sure if he uses his head he will make it. :D

None of this sounds like social distancing at all. Don't touch her stroller, don't get with 6 foot of a kid, don't pet people's animals
probablyobvious
I respect where you are coming from. But if someone eats shit and you don't help because you MIGHT spread covid....
DanielBonnett
Let me just help your child up from this non-fatal graze, and maybe infect it with a probably lethal virus
probablyobvious
Every virus can be lethal. It is extremely unlikely for this age group.
