If you hate gas prices being so high, imagine what it costs to fill one of these.
Imagine the special license you will need, image all the people who would get it, and still flaunt whatever laws would be made regarding flying cars.
This is stupid on so many levels and so many people do not deserve to be allowed to gain access to flying cars.

Very cool, but the claim that it's the first is debatable. There are other companies that have already built flying cars. Terrafugia and Klein Vision come to mind.

Flying cars have existed since the 70s.
And every time someone makes a new version, they claim to be the first to have made a flying car.
The main reason why none of them have gone anywhere is costs, regulations, and the sheer fact they are just impractical. Because helicopters fully supplant the demands a flying car would fill.

But it's not the first flying car, there have been flying cars since the 70s.
Why haven't people seen them, you ask? Because they were all terrible and impractical.
And all of them rendered redundant because helicopters exist and simply do the job better than them.
Because if you can afford one of these cars, then you can afford to be flown and have someone else take your car there for when you arrive.

They combined a hub motor go kart with a drone. They are classifying it as an ultralight, and low speed vehicle...which means it has to be no more than ~250lbs and 25mph on the road. Waste of time, waste investors money, offers no innovation...and really is just kinda scammy.

And then you'll have to fly to an airport every time you want to fly it, because no way will that get helipad approval within cities.
As that's a massive security risk and safety risk.

Flying cars are an absolutely terrible idea in a world without some sort of persistent anti-gravity technology.

It's a terrible idea outside of entirely public transport or completely automated and both those are still not great. A drunken driver flying over a residential area? or into a a high traffic area? Debris scattered for miles starting fires over an entire block, dozens of lives ruined because 1 person made a bad decision.

True. But without something like repulsorlifts from Star Wars (which just seem to work indefinitely), it would be even worse since if your engine fails, you and everyone near you are f*cked.
