To save money Blade Runner was shot on the Warner Bros city streets backlot rather than building sets like Streets of Fire and the 1989 Batman. A problem with this however is that they have been the location of countless films, tv shows, and commercials - not to mention they're also only two stories tall and the Hollywood Hills are in the background. This necessitated its trademark look of rainy smoke filled night time photography to hide the familiarity of the filming location, their height, and what was behind them.
It took me ages to find a picture that matched vintage set photos but you can see the corner building is the exact same, now with a black stripe and some alteration to the top of the stonework.
